D-Tuna
Anybody heard something about that thing or tested it?
i play an ibanez rg2570 and got no other guitar, so it's not possible to tune it down/up quick.I just read that something like that exists.
would it work on my guitar and is it useful?

I don't know what it is but I have a device on my customized guitar that drops my low B string to A with a flick of the switch. I don't know it that's the same device you're talking about but i think that one is handy.
Edit: I just googled for D-tuna and it's the device i was talking about

That shit is damn useless, i've had that shit on my Kramer and rip the fuck off of the guitar, unless you do want that your guitar keep constantly out of tune.

with a floyd guitar, you tune one string down a step, the rest of the guitar goes out of tune, regardless of what you use to tune it down.
so you're going to have to fine tune the guitar anyways,

No, Kramer adds an extra route for the d-tuna so you cna pull up as well..
But like xdx said.. you drop the e to d.. and all the other string are now out of tune.

But mine is located at the head of the guitar. I've got no floyd on that guitar. It's like a real switch.

do you know how long it would take to tune a floyd to dropped D? if you were in concert people would be waiting for a while. The point of this device is to quickly change it to dropped D. But it knocks the other strings out of tune so fuck it.

ye, if you want to tune it down you would have to tune everything for at least 5-10 times or somthing. you also should re-ajust the springs that pull down the trem, thats not that important but..

Im pretty sure the D-Tuna isnt available on floyd-equiped rigs, just stationary bridges.
It sucks anyway, and if you need to play in two different tunings at a gig, have a backup guitar you thilly goose

I went to G-center once and there was a Musicman EVH type guitar w/ a licensed floyd and it had a D-Tuna. I just pulled it a lil' bit and the whole fucking thing like fell apart hah

the d tuna is going to get you in a ballpark. but the way a floyd stylle sytem works, you change the tuning or the thickness of the strings, and everything goes wack.
that's why both my ibanez's have the floyds blocked. i can use thick ass strings in whatever tuning i want, and when i break a string or something... hey, the guitar is in tune instead of a step and a half higher than the reast of the band...
with or without a d tuna, you're going to need to at least "fine tune" your guitar... but i guess it's easier than taking off the locking nut and using the tuning peg.
that's really what they're for... guitars with locking nuts.
