GHOST REVERIES ON SIRIUS RADIO!
Last night on Sirius's "Hard Attack" Opeth's The Grand Conjuration was played, a song off of the forthcoming The Ghost Reveries album. Some people have it recorded and I'm trying to get it. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND PLEASE PM OR IM ME IF YOU GET IT!

indeed, its odd to say the least me and trans agree this will either end up one of our least favorite opeth albums or one of those albums where after a few listens you cant get enough of it. the one song isnt enough to tell but I am intrigued to hear the rest of it

Wow.....I don't know what to say....as much of an Opeth fan I am, I really didn't like that song. First thing I noticed was that drums sounded like shit. Then I don't know if it's cuz of the new Keyboard guy, but there's all this cheesy effects in the backround, too much of it actually. Then, the song itself sounded really just.....boring.

The drums sounding rubbish will be because the song was first compressed for the radio, then recorded, and then compressed again to the mp3, so a lot of the high frequencies have been cut

i noticed that too I actually considered the possability they were fake...
i didnt care for his clean vocals either and the repetetive DUH DUH DUH throughout the song

i bet i end up loving it, but it will take time. when i get the actual cd and listen with my good headphones im sure it will be an experience. kalmah had to go throuhg a ton of compressions to get this osng to you guys, so its nowhere near the quality it shoudl be

Nope, Nope, this is silly.......I listened to it again and it doesn't get any better. There's like hardly any vocals and it's like the same riff over and over. And the worst part is that there's no acoustic shit.......well there hasn't been any since Deliverance, but you get the point. I just remembered Mikael saying on the Guitar One video that some bands would get another vocalist or a keyboard player, but that he believes the guitar can be explored more.....then he goes out and gets a keyboard player..  |
