"Stranded Downtown Til Midnight"

A good friend of mine played an awesome gig the other night with hs band. George Benson also played that evening. He got to jam with some "old guys" later and had a blast, but came time to go home he was kind of stuck. He used the title phrase in telling me about it and I told him I was going to write him a song using it. It's bluesy. Hope you like it. Thanks for reading.

Stranded Downtown Til Midnight
(The 11:59pm and Cal's Stuck Song)

(Chorus)
Stranded downtown til midnight
All the people gone away
Not a soul in this town
Even the jazzmen have gone on their way

Guitar slung across my back
Tossing stones in the road
Played a heavy session
And I just want to go home

Sitting on the curb
With my amp tight at my side
Waiting for a familiar face
To flag down for a ride

(Chorus)
Stranded downtown til midnight
All the people gone away
Not a soul in this town
Even the jazzmen have gone on their way

(Break)
Cutting loose from this dilemma
That I can do nothing about
Start the long walk back home
Makes me want to scream and shout

(Chorus)
Stranded downtown til midnight
All the people gone away
Not a soul in this town
Even the jazzmen have gone on their way

(Repeat chorus)

It's got that traditional blues feel to it. Flowed pretty good. I kept hearing it with a heavy bass line and slow progressive guitar. Kindy like Bob Seger. Old fart.

Hmm, I did another one that had a Segar feel to it, too. That's interesting. Thanks for the comments--except for the last one. brat
