Best sustain?

Which things on a guitar increase sustain, obviously a neck-through does, but which woods? maple top? which pickups? etc.

Cheers

fernandez sustaniac system

neck through, good stable bridge, like a string-thru or a les paul style bridge, non-floating bridges have less sustain.. good tone woods are mahogany and bubinga. theres loads more, some people claim ebony fretboards work better but I kinda doubt that

Thicker strings maybe?
And a higher action, because at distance the pickups magnetism pulls the string less.

Ebony is sharper souding. Notes have more definition, but I don't think they have more sustain.

??

I would've thought cutting a huge chunk of wood out of a guitar body would lose sustain
