That logic doesnt compute when I pose the question as a childs suffering.
So a 4 yr old is being abused....where's his/her ability to believe in a protector?
It would be nice if guardian angles were real....but common sense shows they arent.

it was just a suggestion, i dont know because i've never been abused and never had to feel the need to be protected like that. But surely the ones that get through that part of their life and make the best they can of it have had to have someone or something protecting them so as to not let them give up on life and push through it.
you have a point though, and what about all the innocent people who died in all the wars earth has ever seen? did they not have protectors too?

*SSSSSSIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHH*
I so badly wanted to avoid posting in this thread. But dear holy hell, folks...No. Fuck it. I'm not even going to say anything about my opinion on the subject. Yet I will suggest anyone truly interested in this to go here to chat about this shit. Chit Chat is --thank goodness -- filled with topics irrelevant to metal so we can talk about other things metal fans are into. But whether it is a Sci-Fi geek, or a person just wanting to spread their knowledge on the subject so others may "believe" or "not believe", should we have to see this madness unfold at metaltabs? Seriously, sign up at the suggested site. You'll have shitloads of teenage philosophy fun!
...Eh, maybe I'm just in a pissy mood. Cookies for everybody.

ive been thinking bout that alot, but u see, there good and bad spirits. a person who is verry depressive, or mainly concentrating on negative shit (any kind) will attract bad spirits. and bad spirits cant always harm U but they can make others do things. like those guys that beat peeps up for nothing, maybe they were just drunk of high, but a NORMAL person wouldt do that right??, those people might have been affected by bad spirits (they actualy are). i know everything happening in the world is by the effect of spirits. i say that i know this, cuz i dont look at believes, if u believe sumtin it basicaly means ur not sure, but i am so
i use to be depressive for bout 3 years, and i use to hear lots of voices, nothing good though, i heard voices saying someone was following me, that i was gonna be ambushed and beaten up, shit like that, stuff that my dad was death when iw as on my way home, basicaly scaring the hel out of me for 3 fucking years, every night i use to hear screams, like rilli agressive scream, asif there weere like a 100000 peeps standing in my rom that were mad at me or sumtin, i heard spirits that tryd to make me believe that it was my neighboor sopeaking to me from the house next door, telling she waned sex with me and shit. and ofcuz if u hear that kinda shit long enough ur starting to believe it after a while. Then i got so sick, tired, scared, angry etc. of all that, that i gave up on weed. after i quited smoking i lost most of those voices. i do hear my mom everyday, shes always there for me to give me some advice, or to chear me up in a way. sumtimes i feel like someone is holding my arm (i feel the same warm feeling u would get if..)
sry for the long story, i usualy dont takl a lot, unless its sumtin i can talk bout
btw active corpse fucker, its might just be that ur brother/sister that died is there for u, actualy, im pretty damn sure of it.

personaly i dont think thats the thing, some peeps are open to it, and they dont believe it they know it.
believing is for peeps that want to be part of a special groop but are basicaly just lik everybody else.
i mean, all that terrorist crap cuz they belive sumtin???
jehova withnesses or sumtin, that know everytrhing thats it writtien in the bible, but they dont know what its actualy saying etc. those peeps are dumb and ignorant

Well... 90 - 95% of humans believe in some sort of spirits/gods/devils/ghosts etc etc.
Explains alot of this.

i enjoyed ur story. the first pic or the orb thingy. from far away looked more like a butterfly. the inside of the incylo thing is metal and looking at the srubs i can see u have a flash on ur camera. if u were wearing a watch the flash could have reflected off the inside and bouced on ur watch making it appear as if it were a light saver. the pic of the grave, theres a little white part on the rail. now that i belive is called a firefly.and the final pic looks like u took a picture of a creek. the sounds u may have heard (non natural) could have been crazy kids or animals. cuz baby deers when hurt sound like a chick when shes getting her hair pulled/ high pitch wicked with of west. keep taking pics though. if i may i would like to do a renacment

i think most people expect tom uch of an guardian angel, they cannot stop a man from abusing a child, or stop a someone to beat a other person up, they can warn people for things, but, if the person in question isnt open for it, it will not receive the message

It's a logical assumption based on polls over the past 50 years.
So it's not perfect....but reflects the general feeling.

These are random news sites. You haven't showed anyone anything. Even so...most polls are false and contain a ton of errors; especially internet ones.

Dude, you weren't there so you were way off on many things. Yes that was a blade of grass which was in the picture no real reason to point that out. There were no fireflies out that night, me and Joe made sure to point out any activity that could be ruled out as natural in the graveyard while doing our inspection. And there wasn't a creek around where we took that pic so just stop, you weren't there so don't make such blind claims. And that scream was inhuman. If it was a deer Joe would have said so since he's a deer hunter and has kill one or two.

For some reason I think I've seen that before.
Also, anyone with a file sharing program like Limewire, look for a video like "Ghost caught on tape little girl seen on camera (scary as hell!)" or something like that. It's awesome since you can clearly see the ghost and the guy with the camera screams like a woman and runs away.

Yeah, I got plenty on my computer. The thing is I rename the files to keep them in order and don't really remember what they're called. I know one is called Art Bell something, so type in Art Bell and you'll see it. Or you can do what I did and type ghost in the search and find a crap of videos.

Don't ask me specifics but as far as there not being hauntings from long ago I completely disagree. Shakespeare had them in some of his writing. They are in the Bible. Ancient philosophers spoke of them.
Some things happen in dreams as well as in reality. I couldn't figure out how to keep the end of a board from splitting I was cutting with a circular saw. i asked Denny and he didn't know. The next morning I woke up and told him I just needed to put masking tape on the end away from me. My dad, who built his house, garage, and barn, showed and told me how to do it right before I woke up. It worked. And I thanked him.
When Denny's dad passed away I was in the basement at the one house I talked about living in before. I was hanging laundry on the clothesline and crying and doing a lot of questioning. This voice that clearly was not the one that my normal conscious would here told me these exact words--"Don't worry. He's with me now." And all that heaviness that was on my shoulders was gone. I was completely changed in attitude after that.

Okay....so one day a while back in the high school days....I lent my headphones to a buddy of mine to hear what real music is all about (I made him listen to Old mans child ). He told me that it was scary music, and he didn't like it. He's a weezer kid, so that's basically why he didn't like it. Later that day in a hotel room, he was playing his bass guitar, and one of his friends took a picture of him. For some reason, after he took the picture, I was in it. In the background, behind him. He told me he was scared shitless for a while. See....almost as if I was really there, like he's looking at me and could feel my presence..but really nothing . True story.

Where I said some things happen in dreams as well as reality. Even in the Bible it says men will dream dreams and see visions. It was sort of a dream thing with that. I had already cut some wood which split at the end. It leaves a longer jagged piece. If you put a piece of tape at the end and go through the tape it doesn't splinter.
Does that make more sense to you know?

That was really amusing. Just like the double exposure I did of the neighbors kids dancing in the driveway when they were little and I had an old camera that would do that.

Obviously, this is not a double exposure. It was a digital camera set to black and white, with absolutely no light on the room. That shit with my eyes...that's red eye... hahaha. It was a crappy camera.....

Chris R'-- Since your one picture has orbs in it, what is your explanation of those? Seriously.

Actually, all of the pictures have 'orbs' in them. They were also all taken in dusty and moist areas. It's not much of a coincidence that something I didn't see with my own eyes came up in a picture. I can't see dust particles or droplets of moisture that small on my camera. Since people are supposed to be able to see orbs (trust me, the biggest swamp in New England, the Hockomock, is said to be a hotbed for the supernatural with orbs being the biggest offender), I find it a little strange that people are so convinced that they would come up in pictures when you didn't see it.
Honestly, you can't really have it both ways, right? You can either see them or you can't. It's always the people that are striving to see these things that miraculously find them hidden amongst otherwise unremarkable photographs. Some coincidence!

I've tried to find a route to the Hockomock before, just to check it out. It's supposed to be part of the "Bridgewater Triangle" which sounds more than a little lame. I have since lost much interest in ghost hunting and concluded the time would be better spent doing other things.

Any supernatural thing you can imagine has supposedly been spotted there. UFO's, giant flying reptiles/birds/thunderbirds/mothman, bigfoot, black panthers, ghosts, mysterious swamp lights and orbs, and giant snakes. The reason I so easily discredit these sightings is because the biggest proponent of bigfoot there has also supposedly seen giant snakes as thick as a stove pipe, and as a quasi-snake expert, I can easily say that he is either crazy or bullshitting.
It wouldn't be possible for a snake that large to survive up here, and New England has been poked and prodded and thoroughly explored for so many fucking years that even if it WERE possible (and trust me, it isn't) it would have been scientifically documented by now. It's not as if (as bigfoot proponents often claim) a snake is intelligent enough to not be seen or caught by people. If it's that big, it needs to bask for hours. It is supposedly black, which automatically tells us that the snake would, in fact, spend a lot of time basking. It would have been seen by now, especially considering that the Hock is dissected by roads, a highway, and an abandoned railbed.
For example, the Hock is the only place in SE New England where Bobcat still exist. If Bobcat are documented there, why wouldn't a giant fucking snake have been? Are giant snakes NOW harder to find than fleet, intelligent cats extremely sensitive to intrusive noises? It's so implausible it really is laughable.
The whole "Bridgewater Triangle" thing is rather funny, as well. I grew up in Taunton and I never saw anything weird there. Supposedly, the Hock is right in the center of the Bridgewater Triangle.
If you really are interested in going, I know exactly where the Hock is and where several easy entry points are, so if you ever wanted to go to try to spot weird things, I'd bring my camera and justify the expedition as being a nature walk. I've never been there myself, yet I bought two machetes with the intended purpose of traversing the Hock. I'm still waiting for my chance to go. For what it's worth, there are hunting trails, the old rail bed, and a wide power corridor criss-crossing the swamp, so it shouldn't be that difficult to get through.

That's a cool video.
Here's what gives it away to me as fake though.
We clearly see him see a girl.
He runs away...comes back...see's her and runs screaming as if he's about to die. Then he goes back...see's her again (3rd time now) does the horrid scream again and runs out....then goes back a 4th time and see her again and runs.
SCREENCAP OF GHOSTGIRL
If he were that afraid...as his screams would suggest.. he'd not come back the 3rd and 4th time.
It's likely that was his little sister and he making a "ghost video" to fuck with people.
The day I ever see a ghost like THIS....I'm walking up to it....not running.
What can they do....say "boo"?
However....I could be wrong.

The only time I can go is next week. After that I am going away (I won't say where lest I incur PST's mighty wrath) for a while, and this week I am working and then going away for the 4th weekend. I shall let you know what days I have open for this week and we can probably go. A nature walk doesn't sound half bad.

In response to a question, "WHy are the ghost only from 1700-1800?" Would be if you are in America, that is when it started, granted the Natives could have ghost or whateverm that was when most of the settlers came over and died because of natural and unnatural causes. For the Europe/Australia/Rest of the world. I have no fucking clue.

Yea, same here. Extraterrestrial and the supernatural are both extremely interesting topics to me. We're not the only ones harbouring ideas of extraterrestrial shit. Theres some pretty smart people who have spent years upon years of their lives finding evidence through research to prove this kind of thing. You know when they have PhD's in astrology and mathematics that they're not fucking around.A couple good books to read...
The 12th Planet - Zecharia Sitchin
Uriel's Machine - Christopher Knight & Robert Lomas
To transient, pretty crazy stuff you were talking about in that house. Cupboards opening, TV's and Washing Machines turning on and off, I have no idea what thats about. I can only offer an explanation for doors slamming, because I've experencied that myself many many times.
It happens directly because of the way a house was built. I've been living in the same house for 10 years. It's a bungalow, but it's pretty big spacious upstairs. It's EXTREMELY drafty. I used to think there were ghosts living here because out of NOWHERE doors would slam shut and it would be so loud I would jump out of my seat. But we later learned that it was caused by a wind tunnel carried throughout the house. For example if someone came through the front door and the bathroom door in the very back of the house was open it would slam shut. Thats what I'm suggesting was happening with the doors at that house you lived in.
A lot of intersting stuff in this thread, I'll have to re-read the whole thing at some point in time to catch some more neato stuff

In England there are many stories of viking ships, roman soldiers and even whole battles fought strangely at night so its not all 1700-1800 stuff. Agree about the reason for it being in America. Don't native americans also believe in ghosts and so there must of been experiences from them also.
There is an old mental hospital (yeah i know how fucking cliched is that) - some friends went into it and a guy got locked in a padded cell for 2 hours. When they found him he was in shock and will not speak about it. I blame the experience and atmosphere of being locked in one - but you never know

One day our washing machine turned on by itself.
And lights went open in my room bi themselves.
And my telephone flashes its lights when I push a cable to my guitar amp(even the amp is not connected to the power net). That is pretty weird.

There's been sightings of Indians over here and ghost ships and all kinds of stuff. Late at night on travel tv there's a show on about haunted places around America and other places. It's pretty cool. It may just be on certain nights.
If you ever get to Prescott, Az. stay at the Hotel St. Michael's. It's supposed to be haunted. We were too tired to go look for the ghost, but it's a beautiful hotel hat Bob and I stayed out when we vacationed there. We liked it so much we stayed another night. It's quite old.

I love Chris' show! I haven't seen it in ages. He's cool and I like some of his decorating ideas.

Yeah, and he doesn't always act effeminate. I bet he's a riot on the set.

Well I just got back. This time wasn't as good as when we went to the cemetery. We didn't get good enough proof on camera this time, just three orbs that aren't nothing great.
This time we went to two places where numerous people were lyched or hanged. We could feel the persents of something everywhere we went but you really can't go by feelings. Like last time we could see our breath and it wasn't cold outside. I managed to take a photo to prove it.
Really the best proof we got was a recording. We placed a voice recorder under a bridge and left for about five minutes. When we played it back we could hear heavy breathing that stopped with what we think was a dying moan.

I'll see what I can do. What we used it a brand new digital recorder so it may not be difficult to put it on here somehow. Just figuring out how is the hard part.

This is kinda cool, but throughout my whole life I still haven't seen a single video or had any experiences that would justify any sort of supernatural beings existing... so I don't believe in any of this stuff. The beginning story got really good near the end, except the picture ruined it. Also, I see those "orbs" all the time, and they're just dust and light reflection(like when you film while pointed a little bit away from the sun so that the lens picks up weird lighting). So, what I believe is that everything just has a logical explaination.
Okay, there is ONE story I have. Apparently some people who used to live near us claimed they saw a ghost, and it walked around and was really nice and all . I really think all this stuff is just because of our incredibly confusing brains.

like you've said, you have obviously never experienced anything. but if i/you/whoever finds like a video on the internet by google searching it, or as a popup or however the fuck, i wouldnt beleive it/you/whoever shouldnht either. but if it were posted here that would be a different story

Old thread, but I just want to say me and a couple of friends are going to investigate an old decript partly demolished hospital, supposedily it's haunted.
I may or may not see dead people, but those old creepy hospitals are a good source of inspiration for metal

For see dead people, your brain needs to be sensitive to these elements, it's not everyone who can do that....Are you sensitive to ghost? like you can feel their breath or their presence?

Me and a few friends have been around a derelict mental patient wing a couple of times at the dead of night, fucking crazy stuff indeed! We found a book of patients names, addresses and illnesses, walked around all the cells, through the toilet and shower rooms. It gets very freaky when your in the narrow corridors with small cells on each side, water dripping and floor boards creaking. Why do people love to scare themselves shitless?

This site has so often been a nice distraction at times of boredom. Personally, though, "supernatural" tastes like something sticking stubbornly to the back of the fridge, since its either not in the universe - that is, doesn't exist - or it is in the universe, whereupon it by simple deduction is unquestionably clear that it is natural.
Our minds - well, select part of our minds - have probed the structure of the universe from one spectrum of its size and age to the other, irritatingly enough they thereby also outpace our languages by untold millenia, but anyhow. I have seen many attempts to link various phenomena to the latest trend in the popular science magazines, but to my disappointment never made by anyone who could see the point in using the list of sources. If there are such things as, lets summarise them as spirits, they are accessible by the scientific method, since science recognizes our inherent limitations as observers and thus never, ideally, make claim to such ideas as truth - only the ability to create workable models incorporating all the facts. With all this, plus the fact that Occham has a way of being right again and again, in hahah... mind, spirits as independent entities are not real as far as I can see.
Don't get wrong though... the world is full of magic, and perhaps what can be called spirituality. Understanding shouldn't really have to cloud that.

Yeah, I'm sensitive. Though it doesn't scare me.
We didn't go tonight though. The whole group including the guys who knew the way had all excuses for not being able to go. It sucked.
Maybe next weekend or so.

My neighbor was flipping out about a cloudy apparition she saw floating in her backyard that drifed around and then went across my backyard. When I wsa thinking fog, but usually that's pretty inclusive to the whole area. Hubby said it was ground fog and then I told her about a haunted swamp in a nearby town. People who had never heard about it thought the freakish green cloud was a spirit when in realty it was swamp gas.
People can be fun. I should have messed with her head for awhile just because, but I'm kinda glad I didn't and it relieved her mind a little.
