looking for guitar solos

Hi,

i'm doing improvisation music with a sampler and I'm looking for recordings of pure metal guitar solos.
So, if you have some you could make me happy if you send something to me by mail: rauschabstand@gmx.de
I don't earn any money with this but perhaps i can pay a little for it, if it's not too complicated.

Thank you
improviser

i could pay only a little, it is for non-commercial use! Lets say 50 cent per minute or so. The first problem is: if i would get 20 solos each 20 minute long it would be too much. The second problem is that if you are from the U.S. money transfers cost a lot of fees i think. I think in Europe it is not that expensive.
So of course it woulb be the best i get something free, but i do notrefuse to pay for good material!

@soeru:
oh sh***,
2 hours is of course too much!
i didn‘t mean that you all can pay your rent now with sending me 10 hour guitar solos every week! ;-)
Anyway, have you an account in Europe (or have a friend who has)? I think it costs 25 euros fee to transfer money to the U.S...
Perhaps it i a better idea i send you something by post as a "Thank you", for example some guitar strings...or perhaps something you can't buy at home (suggestion : a cockoo clock) *lol*
anyway, have fun!

haha i have a cuckoo clock from germany! its pretty cool but i insist that its turned off. bastards are loud!

where exactly in europe are you?

and dont worry, i dont think anyone here would make you bother paying them 2 or 3 bucks

i dont have the skill for improvisational solos, sorry

someone here probably does though
so what are you doing, putting together a sampler of just guitar solos?

@transient:

I live in hannover, germany.

And i want to make a big deal with selling a cd full of guitar-samples, eh, no, was a joke!

I work with a program called MAX/MSP, which is a "programming enviroment" for midi and sound. It is like a construciton kit with modules which can play samples, delay sounds, receive or send midi-messages and anything you can imagine. You can choose and connect different modules; it's an relatively easy way to create own sound and music related software. (okay i admit anyway it's a nerd-thing!)
With this i made a programme which cuts large samples into small pieces. Then i use an usb-computer-keyboard which to trigger the pieces. Each key triggers one sample. The number block is to change the pitch.
It's funny to wear the usb-keyboard around the neck...
There is another midi-controler to change other parameters like distortion or filter frequency.

We use this for live improvisation with drums, guitar, "vocals", sometimes sax or other synths. The result is a mixture between grindcore, free jazz and noise.
Of course solo samples are the best source for this program, because then you have only one note or chord or short sequence on every key.

I think it would be funny to have pure metal guitar solos for this, building new solos out of pieces of solos.

Hope i answered your question exactly enough!l

i have a new band and we played only four gigs so far, going to play some more this summer. It is only in small places for little money (like beer, food and 100 Euros for travelling...)
Maybe we are going to make a cd, but it would be on a very small lable which cannot really pay something.

Please believe, i have no commercial interests! I do the music just for my amusement (of course i am happy when somebody else is entertained!) and with this style you cannot earn something anyway, because there are few people who like it!

Here you can download a 6-minute sample of an older project, it is with a grindcore shouter and a grind bassplayer (unfortunately difficult to hear) and a freejazz-drummer.
(Sorry, probably there are better download-places, you have to wait 30 seconds until you can select the file at the bottom of the window.):

ah nah man i wasnt really insulting you, just saying, its crazy. never heard anything like that except some experimental noise groups like merzbow or something

i think the results could be cool if the samples were more mellow...

I am going to the countryside for 5 days now and don't know if i can go online there, so if i don't answer a few days it's not because i am not interested anymore!

@transient: you are right, i also tried things like flute, piano, harp.
We try to play a little slower and more quiet sometimes, to have it more dynamic...

all the best

I dont really get it

Do you basically put together your own songs from samples you find?
And do you play it live thru a computer or does your band instruments.

EDIT: Oh i think i get it now, so you have all the seperate samples stored, then use a keyboard to play the seperate samples in an order?

No offense, but a a guitarist sounds like a less technical plan

You mean you miss it in our music?
Don't want to defend myself, but we are doing noise-music which is a little different...

Anyway: Any serious offers to send me solos?

All the best
improviser
