Guild V with Kahler
Hey all,
I stopped in at the local music shop that I usually chill in and I noticed this nice little white V hanging on the wall. Its slightly weathered but what could I expect? It is old and used but still sounds great and plays really well.
The guitar was a Guild Burnside "The Lance" RR-shaped V. It was equiped with a Kahler Flyer bridge. Its a neck-through and had alot of sustain. I fell in love with it and asked him how much he wanted for it.
His answer: "$150"
Now I know kahlers are worth that much alone, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it, so im jumping on this tommorow once I cash my check. Im was wondering what you guys thought of it, I have posted 2 pics I took on my camera phone (friend is holding it).
Tell me if its a good deal, because google didnt really bring up shit about it.

Is the routing the same as a Kahler?
I plan to replace the pickups with a Duncan Set and the bridge with a real kahler eventually.
Its made of some good woods and plays real well, so it seems to be worth the $150. (Shit, Wal-Mart firsacts sell for $100).
Itll make a great back-up guitar and jam guitar since its got some dings and I wont care that much about the body like my precious ESP.
EDIT: I was looking on Harmony Central and apparently it was made in 1986-87 in japan and is very trustworthy and durable. So im going over to pick it up tommorow

Hey there. I found this site while looking for info on my guitar.I cant believe I found someone with the same one!I looked at the pics of yours and it is true. I have a guild burnside the lance v just like the one in your pictures but mine is a deep purple with a real light metalic flake. I bought it of a guy in 1990 for $100 bucks. It is so sweet to see you have the same thing. I have been looking for info on it for awhile now but no one knows very much about them. All I know is that I have been playing for 23 years and this thing is one of the best for (metallica, pantera, slayer, megadeth etc. Take it from me,you now own one of the best guitars ever made!!! If you do find out any more info on our guitars please let me know and I will do the same. Take it easy man. (kevin)
