im looking for a good way to record my guitar tracks right now i use a digitech genesis its ok.i would like to use my 5150 i dont have a good mic to mic the cab what would be a good mic to do that with ?im interested in the line 6 pod there seems to be alot od choices on there also u can download the engl powerball amp on there ,,,,comments ..

nothing beats the real thing... so for best results. i say buy a decent mic, and or a cab emulator like a h&k red box DI.

I haven't found the cab emulation on the red box any good at all..


and whatever you do, don't even bother trying the ultra-g thing from behringer... it's so horrible, I bought one due to all superb reviews and I don't know what to say, it's so so so soo horrible...


I haven't tried the v-amps, but I know you can use a cab emulation alone, bypassing all other things like the amp emulation.. maybe it's worth checking out..
