Predicament...
Right, so i've got my car insurance to pay at the end of july, so my plans of ordering my RAN soon are out of the window  I have a problem now; i'm getting a band together and may do a few gigs in the summer/autumn, but i've only got a crap Stagg (a jackson copy though  ) guitar, and would like something better for gigging with. Do i get a Jackson DKMG in August, or save up and order my RAN at the start of September? If i get the Jackson, i'll still get the RAN, it'll just be about Christmas when i order it.
What should i do?

Why don't you just get like a nice Jackson USA series, or ESP, or Gibson or whatever, a standard. one? I don't get why everyone's doing this Ran custom stuff so much. I mean if you want to, then I guess you can, but it's like everyone's wanting a Ran custom and not even thinking about just getting a nice standard guitar.

jackson is the way to go.  just think about buying new pick-ups for it. maybe some Evo/or Emg's, preferably Evo.enjoy |

Im probably gonna get a SD Jazz Model/Full Shred set in there, the same as i was going to have in the RAN

consider the DV-8 dave mustaine LTD model. they run for 800 on ebay tops, and for my taste are as good as custom models. got everyhting i want, for sure
but im going to buy one on ebay. dont outbid me now, this is my birthday week! i need one immediately! :P

Yea, i'm still a 'new driver' even though i passed my test over a year and a half ago (only got 1 minor too!), and because i'm prime boy-racer material (19yr old male), my insurance costs a shit load :'( I only drive a Ford Ka too, so its not as if im tearing the roads up either, just getting to and from work every day

After thinking about it overnight, and taking into account what Silent Night said, i'm gonna get a Jackson DKMG and swap out the pickups for some SD's. At present, i can't warrant a custom made guitar for myself because i don't think im good enough yet I'll wait a year or so, unless i win the lottery Cheers for your input though guys, appreciated
