China's

Looking for a China for the old school Black Sabbath and Motorhead music. Any experiences here with Zildjian A,Z,K series? Istanbul, sabian?
Someone allready adviced me to buy a 20" instead of a 18".
I think I'm looking for a loud but not to high sound. I'm going to a large drumstore soon where you can test all kinds of cymbals (with luck on a DW kit), so I need some ideas.

I use a Sabian AA 20" China. Nice, full, and hella loud. In my experience, 18" Chinas are too "screechy", for lack of a better word.

Dunno, I use a Sabian Pro Sonix 18" and I find it quite warm.. unless you belt 7 shades of shit out of it, but even then it gets satisfyingly trashy. I love it dearly. I actually quite fancy a small one to go with it, like a 14" or something.

Im a huge Sabian fan. I would suggest trying out the AAXtreme chinas. They only run in 15" 17" and 19" though. Try them out though, they kick ass. I believe the 15" costs around $150 maybe.

Sabians just have a better sound in my opinion. Check out the AA and AAX series Chinas, you can't go wrong.

Big chinas are cool, they do have the downside of you do need to hammer them to get a really awesome sound, the thinner they are the better the response, the downside is the easier they are gonna break.

I have a fat fucking china and hammer the fuck outa it.

If you havent bought anything yet, check out the Sabian HHX chinas. They come in 18" and 20". Really warm sounding. You can head over to sabian.com to hear all the cymbals. But keep in mind, they wont sound exactly the same as the recording.
