If it's not a big name brand, it's very likely that they are shitbox. I'd be very careful and read lots of reviews. If all fails and you're a beginer and just want to know how they sound, trust your ears, and if you can't, get advice from a drummer, take them shopping with you and get them to play the kit for you aswell because the overwhelming volume of the snare can tire your ears fast and you won't be able to judge well.
