i just got Darkside's Cognitive dissonance in a 3 pack cd deal. i fucking love it. It was some metal pack from Season of mist. It included Nocturnus-ethereal tomb, Darkside-cognitive dissonance, and Anata-some album. I fucking love Nocturnus and Darkside now. And this 3 cd pack was only 14 bucks!!! So please, im asking for opinions on Darkside and Nocturnus, but not Anata. Im sure there are at least some Nocturnus fans here anyway...

Dont know shit about them but I am guessing they are black metal. I know Carpathian Forest is on Seasons Of Mist and I enjoy half their music.

as far as i know they are death metal, but with keyboards and melodies. I read them as "death metal" so thats what i say, just to be on the safe side. But the guitar is death metal for sure. its just the spaced out keyboards that change the feel of the music. actually its those very keyboards that fucking pull me in! but i think some of you might like them if youd give synth some fucking credit. im listening to these guys right now. they are death metal. and keyboards are amazing.

Awesome definitely going to have to check them out. I checked out Mithotyn strictly because you said, 'If you dont like Mithotyn... I dont like you" and they are fucking great. I'm not a big fan of the keyboards though. THey have to be really good(in atmospheric or technicality good) in order me to accpet them as a reason for liking a band.

I cant guarantee youll like Darkside, but they do make some pretty strange atmosphere.

sure, hes fast, he tries to be, and i do like his stuff. But just as great guitar solos can be slow and great, keyboards can to. I think their keyboards are amazing in the atmosphere they create. And if it makes me feel something, its amazing to me.
