Believer

Anyone ever heard of believer if you love technical thrash I'm sure you would love their Sanity Obscure album, the only thing I could see people not liking about it would be Kurt Bachmans vox but otherwise it's technical as hell and it kicks major ass.

I got Sanity Obscure when it was first released and was pretty blown away after listening to it. There are tons of killer riffs all over that album, and the guitars sound the way a guitar is supposed to sound. Listen to that tone and tell me it does not slay 90% of the crap that passes for "tone" nowadays. That is the one thing that I really miss about the late 80's and early 90's Thrash bands: their guitars were dripping with tight, focused gain and they knew how to use it.

I am not a fan of the vocals, but that was what was cool back in the day, so what can ya do? lol

umm i'm not sure who I could compare them to. They said pretty unique to me, they don't play fast slayer type riffs maybe more Destruction, Sodom, Megadeth, Death type riffs, lots of good galloping with a heavy structure around the rhythms. The drummer does an awesome job of synching in all the music. I guess you's just have to hear them. here's the only fansite I've found for them

Yeah that's something else I also have appreciated about late 80's early 90's thrash/death metal. They had great tone, I think tone doesn't sound as good today for some bands is that there is also such a flood of different type of products on this market that it's hard to find what's good and what isn't. I'd start compiling a list of metal amps and pedals, preamps, etc.. that bands started using in the late 80's early 90's that a lot of us old school metal heads try and emulate. I think that would be a great resource for awesome tone!
