guitar tuning...
ok, im sure i've made this topic before, but i cant find it, so im gonna ask again. sorry
neways
is this true:
Drop B is (low to high) B F# B E G# C#
Drop A is (low to high) A E A D F# B
?
if so, how do i get F#, G# and C# on my tuner? i have a cheapy korg chromatic tuner but i can never seem to tune any string to F#, G#, or C#.
any plus how do i get my string to be #? i can get it to be normal, like green in the middle, but how do i get it #? how far to the right do i tune it?
i hope you understand what im talking about, please ask more questions if you want me to elaborate.
cheers

Press flat.
And, for where the note is, for example in drop A, F# tune to Gb (G flat).
C# = Bb (B flat)
G# = Ab (A flat)
F# = Gb (G flat)

This forum moves far too slowly for my liking
Anyway, I tune to B, drop A and A for the most part and use a set of 13's.
On this note actually I recently switched strings. I used to use a mix of D'addario and Rotosounds (Roto fro 1st, 2nd 3rd, D'add's for 4th, 5th and 6th). Well, I needed a string change but was short on cash, picked up a pack of Picato's.
These things are the bomb. Lasting longer than both of the above, sounding much better and as odd as it may sound, feel very good.
Best part is they are about a £1 or so cheaper than other competitors.
Just a little rant there

for B tuning i just buy pack of .010 strings. Discard the high E string. And buy an low e string .070. you're gauges should be then .013 .017 .026 .036 .046 .070.
You van also use a .060 as low e string. But i use a .070 so it gives me room to drop it to A when i feel like playing some nile.

it's one of the more kickass tunings indeed. I use it all the time on my rr-3

.013-.056 might be a bit heavy for C# tuning. I recommend the 0.10-.052. Or a .011 set.

I agree, i think .10 - .052 is perfect for C#.... although i use those strings for all tunings (E to A ), it gets a little sloppy in B and A though

I remember when i had to tune my (ex) Kelly down (from E standard) to B on a set of 09's for a music exam...it was like playing with slack rubber bands.

drop d down one step = drop c
don't have no clue why you can't get C or F on you're tuner though
