7 string pickups...
ok
im planning on getting an ibanez rg7321 and i also planned on getting emgs for it. but then i realised that i have to "chop" it up in order to fit them in. so i wanna know what other alternatives there are which doesnt require me to "chop" up my guitar.
cheers

I don't get what you mean by "chop" your guitar in order to install EMG's. I didn't quite get it in your thread in the guitar section.

exactly, i dont, not to be rebelious, its because shit changes, looking at old threads wont bring we up to scratch with all the new shit and gear. plus the situation may be differnet to others so sugestions may be different and will change. and plus i dont like hijacking threads. so sorry, im just going to have to ignore you.
btw, by choping, i mean that an emg 7 string pickup wont fit in a standard 7 string pickup route, so i have to cut it to make it fit.
thats why im asking if there are any other pickups that fit the standard route in order to save me some hassel.

Obviously there are others. Brands like Kent Armstrong, DiMarzio, Seymour Duncan etc etc all produce quality 7 string PU's.
If your dead set though on getting the EMG's but don't want to make a mess of it youself take the guitar to a local tech and have him do the physical work of routing space for the pickups.
It will cost obviously but it will be done to a high standard.
Or even if you have any friends in woodworking or other precission work who could do it for you, then install the EMG yourself.

Jackson COW's DK7.
Schecter C7 Hellraiser
LTD Viper 407
I'm doubting you'd really have much cash to go for anything with EMG's stock than that as your looking at the RG7321.
But if you do, look in to top end Japanese import ESP's, LGM's, Bernie Rico and top line Ibanez models, J-custom etc (would have to be modified obv).

and not get a 7 string! unless you plan on using all the strings! cause if you arnt (which i doubt you will, an asumption made from your avatar and pic in yur sig) then just get a 6 string and tune lower with bigger strings.

Whereas I do like EMG's, I've heard terrible things about their seven string pickups. Opt for Dimarzio or Seymour Duncan.
And you're a glutton for punishment with that avatar

yea
im thinking of chaning my avatar and my sig because im thinking, these people are right to flame me, i have a slipknot related sig and avatar on a metal site...jeez...i guess i do deserve it.
i see their point, as much as i do like slipknot, i guess theyre not welcome on this board and i guess i have to respect the wishes of the majority and remove it.
im gonna get rid of it soon
not 2day...my internet is slow and i cant be bothered just yet
back on topic, emg seven string pickups are decent, well apparently the 707 is the 85 and the 81/7 is the 81 (as you can tell by the name). so thats a good combination, its just like the 81/85 combo. i think most people use the 707 in the bridge possition which is probably why they get a bad name. i reckon its probably best in the neck where a 85 usually is.
but neways, what good SD and Dimarzio seven string pickups are there?

I do like the blaze-7's in my Ibanez. They are good pups.
But next time, USE THE OLD FUCKING THREAD, because it is not actually old. USE IT! You are the #1 offender of making threads that already exist.
Edit: Demarzio Blaze-7's that is.
