Problem with tight strings.
Iv been havin a problem thats been pissin me off, especially now since im learning more stuff with a lot more bends.
The strings seem to be really tight to bend on my guitar compared to anything else i have played. Is there a way of changing the tightness of the strings without down-tuning?
I have a floyd rose pickup, in case there is anythin on there you can fiddle with to alter the tightness.
Hopefully it is fixable, i need a new guitar anyways i guess... Thanks

That's most likely why....
I use super light .008 - .038
Easy to bend....several notes can be obtained on a single fret this way.

Ah, that explains alot! Normal strings ago as follows:
.010
.013
.017
.026
.036
.046
aka. 10's. I use 11's with a wound G because I tune in D stadard. If you tune in standard E, 10's will probably be best.

Awesome guys, thanks. I got them months ago, i got them coz it said strings for beginner-intermediate. I guess thats because being thicker strings, they are easier on your fingers, unless you are bending.
Iv been trying to learn songs that have like 2-and-a-half-note bends in it, god its been torture on my fingers lol.
Alright guys, cheers

Yeah, .12's are like acoustic guitar strings or either are used by metal bands to downtune about 2 steps, I use .10's.

I'm using 11's now, tuned down a whole step. I have a slightly higher action, which I will fix in time, but I love the feel and sound of them compared to 10's. The third string especially.

Jesus, its no wonder you can't bend if you are 'a beginner' and are using .12's on standard tuning.

haha, its doing wonders for turning my fingertips to leather.
My two bottom strings are acoustic strings, i had a pack of acoustics and just whipped on the highest strings when i snapped them. Bout time to get some more i guess, i might get some .10-.46 and a gauge smaller or something and see what i like.
Iv been playin for almost a year now, i can bend fine but those big ones get a bit painful after a song of them.

you can also buy the hybrid .09 pack. the high strings are from a .009 pack. and the low strings are from a .010 pack. Kind of like a weak version of the high top low bottom strings
