Do i have to get the ENGL footswitch to switch channels on my 530 on the floor?

or can I get some other pedal? (530 =/= MIDI compatible).

This summer I am getting a job, so price isnt SO much of an issue but still, cheaper is better. I just want something that'll switch channels, the contour/preamp defeat isnt a problem right now. No other wacky features needed. Just two buttons.

if all you need is to change channels... midi isnt exactly something you should waste your time with.

what kind of jack does the footswitch have? if it's 1/4" and 2-3 sleeves, you could probably just grab a generic 1 or 2 button controller... otherwise you might need an engl footswitch.

uh, the engl z4.

but you're better off with the z5. the z4 is just your basic two button footswitch. but it's a bitch to switch between 4 channels with a 2 button...

I'm eventually gonna throw in an Intellifex or something in my rack for effects or something...maybe i can just get a seperate controller for that and just have one stomp for my effects and one for my channel...

How can I tell how many sleeves a jack has by the way? i know how to do that on a cable... (black line thingies...)

well, some unit's like the tc g-major, and rocktron replifex can do remote channel switching for heads via midi.

or... an even better midi switcher that can pretty much be used with any amp(provided you order the right cord) is the axess cfx-4.
