Recommend me a new band.
I have been stuck on Megadeth, Cannibal Corpse, Black Label Society, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Amon Amarth, Wintersun, and Iced Earth for the last two years. Using those bands as examples what good bands would some of you recommend me to listen to next.

Damn it!!! I was gonna recommend Iced Earth. That's what I am listening to as I type this. Check out Apocalyptica. They are somewhat of a departure from the bands you listed, but you should not be disappointed. I don't know if you are familiar with any of their work, they covered a bunch of Metallica songs on chellos. They combine classical music and heavy metal, and it's fucking badass.
Also, check out Lordi. They're from Finland, I believe. These guys dress fucking weird man, they make Dimu Borgir look funny. Music is pretty cool, though. I recommend the song Would You Love a Monsterman off of their first album Get Heavy.
Also, Judas Priest. Need I say more?
Go to www.mp3spy.ru, and register. It's free, and you can preview every single song they have available for download. It does, however, cost to download music, but it's cheap as fuck, and much safer than the P2P networks. |

There's two things you can do.
1: Check out the bands that this site has tabs for. Those are the ones that are accepted by a lot of people around here. And there are only "real" metal bands on there, so you can trust them. We've got poser filters. 
2: Check out random people's profiles on this site and read their favorite bands. But I warn you, don't try this with the newbies and metalheads. Most of them are still new enough to like bands that you should never be caught dead and/or nude with. Let the rest of the metaltabbers check 'em out first and allow them to cross the line of no return. Then you may stare in disbelief at their worn and bruised body that has seen better days outside of the uncompromising tests of the gods of metaltabs as you pass by for a nice metal delight and a side of cheesy fries. Mmmmm....
In other words, no one feels like recomending bands to you. It's nothing rude, but they've made their favs clear in the numorous fav bands threads. So carry on. Search the tabs/profiles/forums. Have fun. And don't forget to bring a towel.

I would suggest most people have the same stuff listed as when they started....and why should anyone have shame in their likes....I certainly dont.
Point is...I got by for 19 yrs before discovering Metal Tabs and didnt need help deciding "what's cool" for myself.

My best guess is that he's referring to another band. Their first album did have somewhat of an Iron Maideny touch to it, but they were always more thrash than anything else, especially from Indulgence forward.
