Why is everyone leaving Exhumed?!!
I was just informed that axe man/growler for Exhumed Mike Beams has left the band.
This was on their site
"Once again, there has been upheaval in the splatter encrusted Exhumed camp. Longtime six-stringer Mike Beams has left the ranks of the band after playing on 3 albums and numerous tours. “Mike felt that he had burnt himself out on Exhumed through all the touring and everything and just wasn’t really motivated to continue on and give 110% the way that he had in the past” stated band founder Matt Harvey.
Beams’ decision to leave the group came in the midst of the recording of the band’s new album of cover songs Garbage Daze Re-Regurgitated and the personnel change set back recording deadlines. New guitarist Wes Caley (ex- Uphill Battle) came into the band after much of the initial recording was done and contributed guitar solos on the new album. “Wes is a great guitar player, and was the perfect addition to the band.” Stated Harvey, “we all wish Mike the best, and we’re sorry to see him go, but we respect his decision and are thankful for all the years he’s put into the band. We think that bringing Wes in is going to take what we’re doing to a whole new level.” Caley added "I've been a fan of Exhumed for a long time, so this is a really great thing! We are on the same page musically, and with everything else as well. I can't wait to get out and play some serious metal! I am happy to drink all the free beer that I hope will be in abundance out there, all over the world...."
Now I am just wondering why everyone is leaving Exhumed? Col (the drummer) left to be more contributed in his job of a cancer researcher (! go figure!) and Bud (bassist/vomiter/gurgler) left because he could'nt handle all the tour dates. Now Mike. Poor Matt. His world (and mine since Exhumed is my favourite band) is crashing around him. Well at least they all left on good terms. Leon (ex Impaled) is not the bassist/singer, the drummer from Fuck The Facts is now the drummer and now they have a new guitar player.
What I was wondering was why Matt did'nt ask Leon to be the guitarist? He was the guitarist on Impaled's The Dead Shall Dead Remain. So I figured that would be a logical choice.
But yeah does anyone else find it odd that one by one Exhumed is loosing people and getting new ones?

NNNOOO!!! Not Mike!!!! I'd rather Matt leave the band even though he started the band over 10 years ago. Mike is a MUCH better guitarist and it's a toss up between him and Ross whose the better growler, but Mike can do the roar thing which puts him a step higher than Ross.
I wonder what he'll do now? I hope he at least joins a death metal or grind band so he can do some vocals. Or he can join Ross in Impaled, then they would become my favorite gore metal band.

Mike Beams offered the guitar slot to Leon, but he turned it down, stating something along the lines of "it would be better to have another guitarist more in the vein of Mike". I think I read it on their myspace or forum.

Will Exhume be what they were, one of the greatest gore bands IMO of all time?! I'm listening to exhumed right now, coincidently.

Yeah Matt and I were talking and he said Mike had a stronger picking hand than him (that's why he recorded all the rhythm guitars and Matt just recorded his solos) . Personaly I think Matt is a better soloist than Mike. But that' s IMO. Because if you noticed on Gore Metal Matt was dive bombing and stuff and Mike was doing melodies and stuff. On Slaughtercult they were both doing Slayer type solos. And on Anatomy Is Destiny Matt was doing much more melodies than Mike. I wonder how this new guy will hold up.
No way Matt can't leave. Cause who the hell would be able to take his vocal place? Although most people would say Sean McGrath sounds like Matt Harvey. Not in the least. To me Matt is a cross between Mille from Kreator and Jeff from Carcass. Sean just sounds like Jeff Walker. Matt stands out among the gore crowd.
Hmmm...Mike in Impaled eh? I don't think that will happen. Impaled always had three different vocals, one high pitch growl (Sean), one meidum (Leon, Andrew, and now Jason) and one guttral low (Ross) Mike would just be another guttral. It wouldn't work.

hmmm, Exhumed seem to be dying a slow death. Exhumed are great, I have their old tapes that i bought from greedy fucks for 25-30 bucks. Its good stuff. As far as Beams leaving, that sucks, hes a good vocalist and adding alot of range with singing.
As far Uphill Battles guit man playing in Exhumed, LMFAO!!! Uphill Battle are good muscians, but that band sucks ass. I saw them play with Exhumed and the vocalist thought that their set was so good, he wanted to mosh with the crowd and I smacked him across the back of his head. And someone hated Uphill bAttle so much, that someone stole all their guitarists amp head and cab. hahahahahahahahahaha.
