Quick Question

Howzit. I am thinking of getting guitar lessons soon, and I can't decide between music theory lessons (I already know some theory, but I'm having trouble teaching myself) and traditional electric guitar lessons. I'm not a beginner or anything, I just want to take my lead to the next level.

By the way, how many of you can read music? Is this very important?

i would try to find an electric guitar teacher who can teach you theory.
i can sight read, but i have never ever used the technique outside of classical guitar. i dont know many guitarists who can sight read, and they all get along fine. but its certainly usefull when learning theory.

only learn to read music if you plan on playing in an orchestra
i wouldnt bother with lessons, you pregress faster on your own, but if you definately are get theory teacher
