Ross Sewage low vocals
I was wondering how to preform Ross Sewage from Impaled type vocals. Or Alot of people say it's that suck in air type thing but when I do that I can't get it to go low and it ends up really high. Is there a special technieque to this?

Yeah, Ross does the Gutturals in Impaled, and early Exhumed. His style of Gutturals are more "piggish" so I would suggest rolling back your tounge, closing your mouth to form a circle with your lips, then growl and "E" vowel sound. Take it from there.

His size has nothing to do with it. It's all anatomy of the respiratory system.

He sounds almost like he is whispering.

He could be.... Some (pussy) Vocalists do their vocals in falsetto and use compressors and shit to make them loud. That is fucking lame though.

My friend sent me this forum link, thought I'd add my two cents...
Yup, this is pretty much how I do it. Rolling back the tongue gets the piggish grunt out of what would normally be something that sounded more like Stevo from Impetigo. I would also had some really heavy neck flexing is in order to constrict your vocals chords. It makes your lungs work harder and gets the gurgle going.
Lately, I've been trying to be a bit more flexible with my tongue, as my pronunciation on early stuff is abominable. Bill Steer and Ross Dolan are really great at being so low, and yet you can understand them really well. People should be going for THAT.
I'm NOT whispering, heh... when I got started there was a time when live I had to be turned WAY up to compete with the high vocals. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore, though I'm sure Sean is still louder.
