Most underated band (out of these)
Out of these bands which is the least promoted and famous. I believe Dark Tranquillity is very underrated and doesn't get enough credit for there work in music.

Dark Tranquillity is definitely the best of the melodic death metal groups. And they certainly do not get the attention that shitty bands like In Flames and Soilwork do.

DT, and AE are the most overrated. If it wasnt for angela being female they'd be forgotten about. Although the Amott bros are great.

DT. especially if you consider the path they have taken, versus In flames. But i guess staying "good" will usually keep you underrated if you were in the first place. seems like you gotta sell out, or make something pussy "metalheads" will like just to be heard. tough business.

Whether they are good or not is a matter of opinion, btu not a single band on that list is underrated. Some of them, (In Flames, The Haunted, Soilwork) are hideously overrated.
All of those bands seem to be, or have recently been in, teh point of their careers in which they are (or were) sucked off by absolutley everyone.

As most people can see all these bands are getting lots of credit for there music except for dt, look at in flames (ozzfest on mainstage) soilwork (sells on new album) the haunted (signing to new label) and arch enemy (i dunno). I dont think i have to explain to much research a bit and you will see.

Funny that an Opeth fan would insult Soilwork considering Mikael Akerfeldt was at one time helping Soilwork with guitars and the like. This isn't criticism just wondering why you would dislike Soilwork and like Opeth. I realize they are two different bands but thats kind of like if I said I hate The Devin Townsend Band but I love Strapping Young Lad.

Hopefully not new Metallica. . . They are trying too hard to get something that the people will love. Up until about the Black album they were really original, then they became very cliche. They ripped themselves off and everyone around them as well. I know that for me saying it I was very cliche. As for the whole "Some Kind Of Monster" or "I'm A Baby and I'll Cry When I Want To" I think I've already made my opinions clear. First off, Don't record a crappy/rip off album. Second, Don't record the crappy/rip off album in lo-fi. Sorry I get a little angry when Metallica is mentioned due to they could have done more. . . and Kirk was a crappy student and a very over-rated guitarist and one of the creators of the notorious "put a bullet in my head"/"enter sandman"

i think that the most underrated band is Symphony X, michael Romeo is proboley better than 95 persent of the guitarist out there, including Pettrucci.

second thought, Europe (the band) i think is vastly underratted.
