My neighber has me helping him during the showing at the theater. He is in a Star Wars fan club and they are going to perform outside while people are waiting to see the movie. Friday he wants me to fill in for him because he has to work. His costume is a X wing pilot. I helped him make the helmet. I'll take pics for everyone to see. Everything looks like it is right out of the movie.

I don't really worship Star Wars like most people, but I'll watch them like I would any movie. I like the whole movie series so I'm not exactly a Star Wars nerd.

I will definetly see this movie. A good amount of the star wars games have ruled (Shadows of the empire, Jedi Knight, a mod for battlefield 1942 called Galactic Conquest) by the way. Not sure if I will dress up as anything though.

Yeah, I've played a couple of those. I thought the KOTOR dominated though because of all the dark force mind tricks and shit you could do. If I had to go light side I probably would have hated it. I enjoyed watching my character become more evil looking and shifty because I am a sick fuck. |

fuck! i could have sworn i replied to this thread earlier today. anyway, all i think i had said was that i LOVED the original star wars, the trilogy. i loved them as a kid, and i guess that stuck with me. perhaps its the memories, like many other things in my life that bring me some form of hapiness. anyway, i do remember mentioning in the RTT that i have yet to see any of the newer Star wars films, and i repeat, i dont think i would like them near as much.

The new films really aren't as good as the original three (but cmon.. those kick major amounts of ass!) but they are indeed a good watch for any start wars lover, they answer alot of questions and have enough fighting to keep you interested.

Episode 3 will be a pile of wank, just like 1 and 2. Hayden Christensen is the shittest actor I have ever seen, Keanu Reeves would do a better job. Pamela Anderson would do a better fucking job. His acting makes me angry.
Unless George Lucas dies a horrible death at the end, it WILL be shit.
I love the early films, they're great, but these new ones are just worthless.

i was never really into Star Wars but my biggest "Star Wars" memory (13 years go +-) was when i had to choose between renting the 3 first movies (4, 5 and 6) or uncle Arnold's "Commando".
my choice was obvious and now i can kill squads of armed men with a knife and carry fuckin' trees on my back.
as for the new SW movies, they were boring. the CGI was cool but the story and actors just didn't deliver.

I didn't find that to be true, the only decent battle/fight scene was Yoda & Count Dooku. The Battle Droids are annoyingly stupid, the continuity of the Clone Troopers being more accurate than Storm Troopers does not make any sense what-so-ever. The obviousness of Palpatine being Darth Sidious in Episode I was a bit too annoying, in the sense that you know exactly where the films are going to lead...it's just a question of how, hopefully Episode 3 can make that how better and far far superior than the previous two. I don't get why Lucas has put terrible actors into some roles, (i.e. Bobba Fett in episode 2, Anakin in all films and anyone from Naboo bar Natalie Portman).
Oh and they should not of given Ewan the freedom to try out an english accent, it's far worse than his american one in that film with Cameron Diaz, (who needs to be shot).
As for questions being answered, the stroies following Episode 6 are far far more interesting than those that have been rewritten, to an extent, in these films. Oh, and I fuckin' hope he doesn't turn the Wokkies into Ewoks...

i saw an interview with lucas on tv, and he said that the star wars movies stop after episode 3...which means we'll have to wait another 5000000 years to see ep. 7,8, and 9
one thing about new vs. old that ive noticed, the lightsaber battles.
the old movies pretty much show them lunging at each other and getting caught up in each others lightsabers *crackle crackle*
where as the newer installments you see yoda doing fucken backflips and sith with big fucken horns stickin out of there face with double sided lightsabers
but it makes sense that the newer movies lead on to 4 5 and 6...well cause they were made first so the story can only go one direction

I was thinking about buying up a bunch of tickets for the Star Wars premierre online and then scalping those suckers in front of the theater.

The movie was good... some poor acting and the script could use some work.. but the story was great and the fight scenes were amazing.. it kept me up at 2 in the morning.. so its definetly not boring.

It starts off with a huge space battle and then Anakin and Obi Wan proceed to kick ass along with r2d2...
then more fighting.. and even more... 10 minutes of bullshit, some corny lovescene... then more fighting.. more.. more.. more.. still more... alot more.... some grunts and breathes... fighting again.. burning... rebuilding... fight fight fight... end.
Yes, some bad acting by Anakin.. and the Senator.. but he has a hard role, and the dialogue provoded for him didn't give him much to work with.

I just saw it too. There was some bad acting involved indeed....but what happened to anakin was fucked up!!!! I'm kinda shocked actually do how it goes down.....pretty brutal.
There was a LOT of action!!! Whole lot of action. There was some slow parts....talking and talking here and there....but the action overshadows it big time.
So basically.....I loved it!!....even if you remotely like the series, you should see this movie. I doubt you will regret it.

All the fans at school that I know say it was the best movie they have ever seen, and it summed up alot of stuff from past episodes. i dont think i will see it.

I can see where you are coming from there.....I can't stand those fucking dorks....I've liked the films since I was a kid. blah blah blah ( ) You get the idea. It's just a shock to see that George actually took a leap of faith making this film so dark, and it really brought it out....aside from the occasional bad acting of course.

They are both pretty dated. Lord of the Rings was pretty cool in the seventies, but no so much now. Star Wars was always pretty cheesy and poser in nature.
I would like to see the Necroscope book series put on film. Those books are WAY above all other vampire novels and yet the fluff books turn into films all the time. It's pretty sad actually. |

I have always been a Star Wars geek.
I'll wait a few weks and go see it when all the hype has died down a bit.
I'm one of those people that cant tollerate a theatre with noisy people.....will perhaps see an early AM show as this city has many all night cinemas.
My hope for Star Wars future....
I would love nothing more than to see a film on the development of Han and Chewie.....an entire film could be made on this subject and I believe it would stay true to the storyline despite its placement in the series.

I really need to see this. I am a sucker for these series, as I even though the first one ruled (have not seen the second, but would probably like it). Then again, I have a kinda low standard for movie par (I enjoyed Fat Albert). I will also put in that zombies >>>>>> vampires. Vampires always have some sort of stupid gothic or dark imagery inter-twisted with romantic BS or something, while zombies just kick ass and die in cool ways.

just saw it 2 nights ago...it was pretty fucken awesome
the one thing i didnt like about it was that they tried so
hard to merge the movie with episodes 4 5 and 6
we all know the existance of x-wings and tie fighters right...well in ep. 1 and 2 the technology was way more advanced than that...and in ep.3 they made the ships and everything (including the empire battle ships and huge shit) look like it resembled somethnig in the later movies...
and chewie was in it as well. kickass.

yeah they did it good il give them that...but think about it...ep.3 takes 20 years till ep.4 begins...all the mending and putting pieces together was really rushed for the time span that they could have done it in

I'm gonna check whether it's up for download, I'm adamant to not give George money. But I dunno, due to reviews from other ep-1/2 haters it's kinda swaying me to go to the cinema. But, people have said that Jar-Jar is in it......why couldn't they of killed him off during the Clone Wars cartoons? (which are far far better than episodes 1 + 2)

it's definetly the best of the 3 new movies!
the dark side of the whole movie just rules, palpatine and r2d2 are the coolest of the whole movie, haha.
the one thing that kinda bothered me was the end, it's like they needed to patch everything back together. like, oh you see darth vader walk around for a minute, then you see yoda telling something like 'oh by the way, I can talk to qui-gon now, obi-wan!'
Same with the birth of the twins, it's just too quickly, the end is cool though, it's like watching history unfold or something.

It was quite good. And i thought Hayden had stepped up his acting quite a bit from episode 2 (now he rates at poor).
As far as the qui-gon thing - that (i believe) is in relation to the ability to communicate after death like yoda and obi-wan did to luke.
I don't really like George Lucas as a writer/director, he either makes thigns WAY to obvious or so obscure that you need a horde of internet nerds to start making fan fiction to explain it.
