hi guys sorry about bringing this up again but i still havent got a good answer! looking for a tone from my triple rec like kill switch..very heavy bassy and hard core you know the tone! on channel 3 anyone with any suggestions as i can only crank my amp up once a week at rehersals help apreciated

i dont have a triple rec, but if i couldnt get the tone i wanted , i d look on harmony-central.com and look for reviews on it and see if anyones posted any settings

Normally, fucking with the knobs is the only way to get the sound you want. As for EQ settings, try high bass (but not too high -- around seven out of ten). Low middle will give you a more badass sound sometimes (around two out of ten). And the treble should be somewhat high (probably seven or eight out of ten). The middle EQ setting usually determines whether it's got that crunch sound (higher middle) or the smooth and bassy sound (lower middle). Treble usually needs to be higher, as turning it lower will cause your guitar to sound a little too muffled. And the bass sometimes just goes on preference. Get the bass too high, and it almost takes over the sound, thus killing your tone. But if you go below midway with the bass, you're likely to end up with a sound that's too thin.
Hope I helped with my ramblings of stupidity and incompetency. Like I said, just fuck with every variation of the knobs you can think of and compare the sounds.

the mid knob is key with the recto's.... as the volume goes up, the bass and gain should come down...

actually right now they're sporting H&K triamp MKII's and just using the dragon's as backups.

So they used a Framus Dragon and then double tracked with a 5150, both boosted with the maxon OD-808..

They switched the H&K Triamps after their Framus' kept crapping out on them.. their tone on Jimmy Kimmel was shit, but that could be due to the sound guy.

Either way the Cobra can easily achieve any tone the Dragon can.
