For those with Explorer shapes...
What gig bag do you have? There's a ton out there to choose from, but I have the feeling that many won't be able to hold an ESP Explorer. I've seen a case that's just for Explorers, but it doesn't fit ESP's too well, only Gibson models. I'm not really looking for a case, a bag will do just fine, anyone know anything for explorers for $20 or under?

I recently bought a explorer/kelly shaped guitar. To my suprise, it fits greatly in the gig bag I bought for my strat type guitar. I only wish it would fit in my guitar stand

you can put them in a stand. You just need to slant them a bit like this
But my guitar usually hangs on the wall

From what is visible, thats exactly the same stand I have
I have a bit different model with slightly off dimensions, mine just hangs 45 degrees to the left or right if I try that.

I bought a really nice BC Rich padded gig bag at Guitar Center and my Explorer just fits barely. You gotta move it around a little, but it still fits good. It didn't cost no $20 though. It'll set you back more than that. Not sure exactly how much. Maybe $35, maybe more. But this is a really nice gig bag, man, it will protect your guitar from just about everything a hard case would, except for bumps and breakage. If you drop it, or bang a wall, tough shit. Bag's not gonna be much use there. Other than that, perfect.

I got a ESP hard shell case for my Epiphone Explorer. Cost $30 but my Epi is far worth it. I like to think I have the best Epi goth ever made, not including the Mods I have made to it
My point is if you have any guitar that you value it is worth having a hardshell case for it. Every guitar I own has one.

How did your EPH Goth play before you put the mods on it, and what mods did you do to it.

It had the best action of all the other Epiphones I had played over 3 months. I pay attention to things like fretboard grain and hardware placement. With Epiphone it is hit or miss. This one was 1/1000 imo so I jumped on it.
I replaced the pups with EMG, repleced the saddles with graphite String Savers, shaved the nut, realigned the pups to the strings, replaced all electrinics ( 3 way toggle, 2 stacked vol/tone knobs ), shielded all electronics, replaced strap knobs with recessed Dunlop strap locks, replaced the stock pickgaurd and plates with custom diamond deck metal.
I guess I did quite a bit to it but it didn't cost me as much as other guitar mods. It was a perfect guitar, even compared to other Epiphone Goths.
Hit or miss. That is the way it is with Gibson or Epiphone.

if you want to spend a little bit more money... coffin cases supposedly fit explorers and v's like a dream... but they're fucking huge... my car is a mini... and it only fits if you put the back seat, and passenger seat down.
