All my noobish questions in one post...

These are really stupid questions, but I just want to make sure before I go and buy something online:

1. Do new factory sealed guitars come completely assembled? As in> with strings, pickups, bridge, and tuning pegs all set up and ready to go?

2. I am buying a factory sealed axe with EMG active pickups, does this already come with a battery?

3. Are the strings that a new guitar comes with(if at all, I don't even know) usually of crappy quality?

and a final question that has doesn't pertain to this directly: Is changing the battery on a set of active pickups a real bitch? I've never had to open a guitar before, is it necessary to remove strings or some shit?

Thanks for any assistence, please forgive me for my noobishness.

1. Yepp, you just need to make some adjustments so it plays like you want, it it doesnt already.

2. I reckon it does.

3. I don't really know but I think you should put the strings you usually have on your guitars and then adjust after them.

Final question: No it should just be a matter of opening your control cavity and switching or if you have a battery box just switch.

The strings of a new guitar are usually good. On jackson guitar you get the dean markley SLP's if i'm not mistaken. And with active emg's you get a battery with it.

Adjustments... I assume you're talking about tuning the guitar... right? Cause if it's changing the position of my pickups I'd rather not fuck with that. :P

Not the pickups, just the height of the bridge (if it is a floyd rose) which is pretty easy to do if you know how it works.

This reminds me of when I bought my new bass...I didn't even know it was active till the battery died. I flipped out for half an hour, then thought "Hey, what if it is active?" I'm a moron.

And all the online purchases I've made. (Both my basses) have come fully assembled and with strings. Though you might want to put new strings on it when you get in anyway...factory ones arent any good.

1. I cannot imagine buying a guitar un-assembled. But, like they said, usualy you should adjust the bridge/action a bit, and sometimes the intonation.

2. I guess so. But it probably would be some chinese p.o.s. testing battery that's empty very soon.

3. Depends on the manufactorer. But usualy they ship them in a light 0.09 gauge strings, so you'd probbalby want to buy some heavier d'addarios.

Thers nothing wrong with 9s especially if they're going through EMGs. Even more especially for begginers
