that's gonna be awesome
for steve vai's setlist i hope he does.
1-reaper
2-tender surrender
3-bad horsie
for joe satriani's
1-the extremist
2-love thing
3-satch boogie
4-surfin with the alien
and any song by petrucci because they all kick ass.

sure was. for me
it would be
Vai:
tender surrender
whispering a prayer
rescue me or bury me
a solo by sheehan
Satch:
extremist
me always with you crystal planet
flying in a blue dream
Petrucci:
Glasgow Kiss
Damage Control
flight of the bumblee bee
i agree malmsteen has a better stage appearance than petrucci. and the reason they have petrucci is because he's going solo from dream theater, and their promoting his albulm. sort of like uli jon roth's metamorphosis of the 4 seasons

im really lookin forward to petrucci. i liked yngwe, but did you notice that at the g3 jam, vai and satch would be playin somthin cool, like together, then yngwe would come over play somthing real quick and proceed to throw his guitar and kick at the air? ya'll may like that, but i prefer what vai and satch were doin together. i think petrucci is more in the same style (progish metal) than yngwe (neoclassical?)

Yngwie just ups the bore factor even more.. wow, a fatass with fretboard ADD! He completly fucks up the jam at the end, he has no sense of phrasing and improvises 90% of his shit live.. and he isen't very good at improvising.
Why dont they have Steve Morse? Greg Howe? Doug Aldrich? Marty Friedman? Hell, even Alexi Laiho or Zakk Wylde would be interesting.

Paul Gilbert would be awesome.. maybe Micheal Romeo?
Cmon.. someone with emotion in their playing?
Vai and Satch need to take a break, this isen't G3.. its Vai and Satch + one supporting act.

BLS is right with the supporting act thing, I think they should switch things up abit, i think Zakk Wylde would look pretty Damned funny next to Satch...
Michael angelo Batio, perhaps?

Steve Vai, Satch, and another guitarist play their own seperate sets, and then have a jam at the end. Really great stuff, except, like everybody's said, Yngwie kinda screws everything up. He just acts sorta fat, and then plays really fast improvised stuff.

God that would be boring...
What ever happen to a guitar player that could actually write songs?
Angelo's exciting for the first 15 minutes, then you see everything he can do and your stuck listening to the same neo classical crap for the rest of the hour, then Yngwie would play the same set as Angelo, except alot sloppier, and Rusty would do some neat 8 string stuff, then proceed into the same neo classical shit you have been hearing all night.
Jason Becker blows them all away, he can do the neo classical crap but also actually play with emotion.
Anyone ever seen the video of Yngwie playing the "Blues" ? its really... HORRIBLE.

the only thing i hate about yngwie on the dvd was
when he played a bit threw his guitar around and even though
he was doing that he missed alot of notes.
also its not always satch, vai and yngwie and satch vai and petrucci
the tour before that they had eric johnson who imo is fuckin awesome.
also yes if paul gilbert did a g3 tour again it would be amazing.
or even buckethead
and not forgetting tony mcalpine dave wiener and billy sheehan
those guys kick ass.

ANYWAY!!! back to the thread theme here...
id like to see:
Vai:
Animal
Bad Horsie
Speedmetal Symphony
Satch:
Satch Boogie
that song on the "satch tapes" where in the video its a big race or destruction derby and theres a bunch of harmonics... i don tknow the name of it...
then... hmm...
if it was Dave Mustaine:
into the lungs of hell (longer version)
poison was the cure (longer version)
and new world order (longer version)
if it was Paul Gilbert:
dady,brother, lover, little boy (longer)
addicted to that rush (longer)
Sacrified (longer)
then for the jam Dave would sing

I recently saw Batio's Double neck Dean Mach VII in the new guitar world and I saw a picture of him playing it. . . . Scary. . . Death to Batio. . . He's too good on two guitars at once, but then again he practices stuff like 1000 times daily so I would understand why hes such a great. There is also an error that says he is playing on like the 32nd fret in the new guitar world. . . so don't try playing it. You'll have to find out what he's talking about and correct it.
