Sepultura, Type-O-Negative, Ozzy Osbourne 1996 Retirement Sucks Tour. It was the greatest especially considering I was like. . . *thinking*. . . 8 or 9. He even used Beavis and Butthead as a gimmick. Odd memories of that night. It was a great one though.

I've never been to any real concerts.
Personally, I don't see the need. I hate parties. And they're kind of like parties. Of course, I'd be willing to play a concert. But I'm just not the kinda guy to go see one.

I LOVED Fred Penner's show!!! Awesome.
The first band I ever saw was a local one called Ox that played at our 6th grade dance. Too bad nobody was into that type music when they played. It was heavier rock and about everyone I knew was into top 40's. I still remember the red hotpants with the white polka dots that I wore. Ewww! lol
The first 'real' bands I ever saw were Rush and Ted Nugent in the 70's. Then probably Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Alex Bevan and Michael Stanley Band (they're homeboys), Peter Frampton, Satch, Dream Theater, King's X, Styx, Paul Rodgers, and Billy Squire. And this July I'm going to see the Moody Blues and I can't wait!!!!!!
Bob's first was Ozzfest with his dad and a school buddy.

Sorry for the double post. It wouldn't let me edit.
edit: I saw Godsmack and Metallica. Shows how impressed I was. I forgot them and that was the last I went to.

Needless to say, Damageplan stole the show.

mine was In flames a few years back. and i have yet to get the rush i recieved in that one. I am not a person who likes to mosh, nor did i do it here. Im more of the one who stands somewhat hypnotized in amazement because they are actually seeing one of their heroes, or group of heroes in this case.

Cult of Luna I think... *shakes head* That was an aweful experience. One of their songs was just them picking notes from chords for about 10 minutes, then a really slow boring drum fill. Some distortion in the guitars (very slow powerchords) and then the singer literally ran back on stage from wherever he had been, sang around 10 words and the song ended.
We left after that.
Then a few days later, Slipknot, Slayer, Hatebreed and Mastodon. THAT ruled.

Ratt
Y&T
Metallica Photos from show
Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force Photo from show
Victory
So technically, Victory was the first band I saw.
You've probably seen me before. I'm the tan dot of ink in the twentieth row on the far side of the coliseum in the picture on the back of "Master of Puppets".
I was curious if I still had the ticket stub and couldn't find it with the main collection, but I've attached a photo of some classics...

I've never been to a concert of any well-known bands, only local. It's really expensive... Nightwish have been in romania last year and Therion are gonna play next month... it's just sad. I can't go.

Van Halen – the first tour (clearly showing my age). I’ve seen six other Van Halen tours since then and the one last year was the worst (if it wasn’t for Sammy it might have been the worst concert I have ever seen). I think Eddie is done.

I've seen alot of little shows by random local german bands
but
the first real concert I ever saw was a few months ago, anti-flag in this little bar in germany and I moshed and almost got squashed but it was fun!
about a month after that I went to nurnburg to see bright eyes play with the fain, and that was a fucking religious experience. Conor was drunk as fuck of course and he played his guitar while standing on the bass drum and then he stood on the keyboard and feel off that. it ruled.

Heh,
First show was Lynyrd Skynyrd, but after that I've seen...
Metallica, Pantera, Godsmack, Slipknot, GWAR, Lamb Of God, Morbid Angel, Slayer, Damage Plan, Soil, Blindside, Staind, Disturbed, Systematic, Buckcherry, Kid Rock, KISS, Skid Row, Quiet Riot, Slaughter, Night Ranger, Ted Nugent also, stuff like Collective Soul, The Black Crows, The Eagles, + many more I can't think of...

Iron Maiden in 2000.
I've also seen:
-A Perfect Circle, Snake River Conspiracy opening.
-A Perfect Circle, Burning Brides and Mini-Kiss opening
-Tool, Phantomas opening
-Lacuna Coil, Daylight Dies and Tapping the Vein opening
-Ozzfest 2001
-Chimaira and Machine Head (ugh, MH suck), Trivium (fuck yes) and Noir opening.
Locally:
-Fear Before the March of Flames, Morning Abroad, and the rest I didn' see
-The Sleeping and PAULSON, The Goodwill, The Twillight Collective and Ritter opening.
And no, I have not gone to really any metal shows. The closest venue is up in Philly (45 minutes) and my ride has to be into the music I'm going to see, with the exception of Chimaira (we were at Disney).

DAMN, I feel old around here...
Glad to see that some of the other Metaltabber's are around my age... My first REAL concert was Black Sabbath at Maple Leaf Gardens for the Born Again tour in...what...'82? With *hangs head in shame...* Quiet Riot opening. I'll never forget how purely EVIL Ian Gillan looked on stage. Nor will I forget them doing Smoke on the Water for a first encore!!!!
Second show was Exodus for the Bonded By Blood tour at Larry's Hideaway (R.I.P)
Cheers
edit: I had tickets for Metallica on the Master of Puppets tour, but gave them away after Cliff died. Nothing against Newstead (sic) but he's no Burton...

Iron Maiden with Yngwie Malmsteen, I think the year was 1986? And look at what I play today...thats ironic.

My first concert, I was 12 and a half years old when I saw Hypocrisy (Peter was the shit) who was at the time my favorite band, Dark Tranquillity, and Soilwork. Soilwork sucked though. Hypocrisy was the best. A few years later, I saw Zyklon, Enslaved, and Gehenna in Oslo. Best concert of my life.
