just wondering
im not sure if this (or sumtin like it) has been brought up before
thing is...
riffs bore the living crap out of me
i rilli cant stand playing a single riff 3 times after each other, wich would be necesary(spelling??) when im in a band (wich im not  )
i sumtimes play some hate eternal riffs cuz their pretty sweet but they still bore me as fuck 
but on the other hand, i can play solos all day long (even if its only 1 or 2 solos i can play those all day)
i think that riffs dont challenge me enough, im resently learned 2 necraphagist solos, wich arent even that hard for me now
i can play em at bout 90% (sumtimes even 100%) of the originaly album speed without 2 much trouble.
anyone any idea what i should do???
cuz its obvious i cant be in a band when i dont like playing riffs, and i cant just go solo all the time aswell i guess
suggestions??

Try some stuff out like Spastic Ink, Watchtower, or Martyr. I recently have been feeling the same as you have and these bands really got my interest back.

try and get in a band and if your still bored then dont play anymore. theres no sence in doing something that bores you

Yeah, cause I headbang while I do, and I can't really "Jump" (haha ) like VanHalen in a dorm room, so I just walk back and forth....haha a couple days ago I was jumping up and down on my bed, with my pants down and my roommate came in when I wasn't looking, hahaha.

thnx those were some helpful tips..
bout my goals in long term in music
i just wanna play my ass of, i dont play cuz i want to get famous,cuz i would play punk then i guess , but i do want to get somewehre in music (band, performing etc)
so i guess ill go and find a band to jam with, seems like the only option i can see for now

Write a 12 minute epic solo at 350bpm and practice it until you can play it note perfect every time.
If you manage that, then write a slap bass accompniment (sp?)
That should keep you busy for a while.
edit: On a more serious note, you sound like you are too good at guitar, you could dabble with a new instrument. Maybe the harp, that looks like a challenge.
Or learn to play left handed.

im not trying to show of how good i am (im not that good im just ok i think), im totaly not like that, its just i need something thats gonna improve my playing more than just learning sick solos, and that is writing music, but it bores me to just sit in my room trying to write riffs cuz they all sound slike shit when i play it alone.. get the point

try harder stuff or a different style of metal. if your playing slipknot or something like that, then i see why your bored. try some Lamb Of God stuff. its all really fun to play and alot of it is super hard.

I didn't mean it like that, I realise you aren't trying to show off, you DO sound you can rip up a fretboard. Anyone who plays necrophagist is fucking good in my books. I was just messing about.

btw another instrument is not an option, i didnt spend 2750 euros on a jackson uisa1 to quit playing it 
and i love guitar WAY to much 
and a different style of metal isnt gonna work either cuz i dont like black for playing, i played bout 3 dimmu cd when i just started guitar (thats actualy how i learned playing guitar)
then i took some lessons from some insane guitarist but he plays rock so not my style, but he learned me al the basics, from correct alternate picking to sweeping etc.
and... i love DEATH metal 2 much to play sumtin else
i can solo ok but my leads arent like amazing, mainly cuz they bore me
but im looking for a band now, well just started looking for one 10 mins ago

if you like death metal, Id suggest learning stuff from the band Death. thats always fun to play in a band situation. my only other recommendation is learn some other stuff, blues, jazz, every genre has its amazing players. if that still doesnt tickle your fancy then be the next Yngwie or steve Vai?

if riffs bore you then you ain't playin' the right riffs.
heres a challange:
1)write a riff you could play 8 times through without getting bored.
2)make other people play it with you
3)blah blah blah you know the rest.
I can guarantee you you will not get bored if your in a band playing your riffs.
you will enjoy that almost as much if not more than sex/heroin/mindless violence.

i just kinda met a guy that was in a band but he left them and he wants to make an album, he has a shit ;oad of songs already and he might come over sumtime to jam with me, so maybe thats a start.
btw the guy plays for bout 18 years so i could even learn from him
