Ibanez S Series 7 String
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ssPageName=WDVW
My co-worker has that exact same guitar except its kinda in shitty condition, like a couple scratches on the back, its missing the locking nut bolts, and the trem arm. But all the parts i need are easy to get from ibanez or any part dealer. Im gonna try to get him to sell it to me for like 350 or 400, wondering you all thought of this guitar.

Yeah, I like the look of the S-7's......... But I prefer my 24 fret RG over the 22 fret S. Gotta have two octaves I say.

Yeah 2 octaves are nice to have but you have quite a range on a 22 fret 7 string too.

yea i wanna get it but i also want a kahler bridge, and he kept this guitar in terrible condition cause he doesnt know what the fuck he is doing, he has ahrd SKB case for it but it doesnt even fit it like barley squeezes in there and when you close it, it curshes the guitar, i think it prolly fucked the neck up keeping it like that. Id rather just save up for another ran and/or kahler, just wanted to see what you thought of these guitars.

they're neat guitars, cool finish and super light compared to most 7 strings... S's sound kinda thin though.

The first "real" guitar I got was an Ibanez S. I like this guitar, expecially the neck. But I hate 7 string guitars (like my schecter blackjack 7).
If you like 7 strings buy it. I think it will be very light. And the sounding is O.K.

Yes the necks are great - especially on the Sabre series.
7 strings are fun to play, but I'd rather have a better 6 string for the same price.

Unearth used to play that model before Ibanez made them custom 7 strings. The bridge is crap, it only has 22 frets and the body is very thin.. lacks much tone.
Not a fan at all, RG7620's are more of my thing, and their cheaper.. easy to find aswell.

I do feel you would be happier with another Ran with of without a Kahler; or even another guitar. Even crap guitars cost some good amount of money, so don't waste it on shit no matter how good the deal seens. It will only set you back in the long run. I wouldn't pay more then $150 for it in the condition it is in.

i have nothing against thin guitars, just because it made thin people assume it sounds that way... but more times than not, that's untrue.
hell, listen to unearth, they play these things, and they sound very thick and huge, but remember, they have theirs loaded with emg's and they're playing through framus cobra's. not to mention they're 7 strings so you get that thick/low sound.
22 frets? imo not a problem, all of my electrics have 24 frets, i pretty much never use the extra two. it's only a 2 note difference in the whole guitar's range, and even then to most it's not commonly required nor put to use.
but personally, of all the guitar's ibanez makes currently, i preffer the rg style ones. and of course i own a couple.

I've learnt to just bend up to 24 on the 22nd fret. If there's a 24 bend then I'll just have to find a note I can p.h to get the right sound.

Dont forget the wonders of double tracking, double amping and having Adam D as your producer.
But really, their is NO reason to buy this guitar when you can get a RG7620 for as low as $200 with an awesome trem and 24 frets.
