OC-3 super octave

Anyone who knows if this is a good pedal? Does sound cool? Or is it just wasted money?

ive never tryd that specific pedal, but i have a rack fx thing that has the same kinda thing

it gives u an extra bass note, so ift KINDA sounds asif theres a bass playing along

my opinion is that its kinda lame, but it can be fun to play around with sumtimes
and it can sound cool for some extra heavy leads maybe, or some solo parts

u should just try it out sumwhere

from my experience, i used one of the other boss octave pedals, and it was shite...

doesnt work very well with lower notes and bollocks with chords.

but yeah, havent tried the newer one.

i have the oc-2 and never touch it, you might use it once during a solo or something. it farts too much and you have to turn the second octave effect practically off. for single note runs only, no chords

not very practical for heavy use... and it's one of those pedals that is only as good as the person using it. it's not like a mild chorus you can just turn on and barely notice. there are specific times and things to use it for.

i say just go all out and buy a whammy... same octave type shit, plus pitch shifting, with an expression pedal.

or if you want to get hella serious you can by the eventide harmonizer.

The novelty of the whammy wears off quick, plus I've seen far too many guitarist wreck a perfectly good solo by feeling that they HAVE to use that damn pedal in their solo.

well.....i wouldnt do that. but it'd be cool to use controlled noise. get some feedback and make a note with it.

talkin bout noise,

there this band in me area called fell silent, sorta hardcore/mathcore, for there intro they do that feedback control thing. it doesnt sound quite like feedback cos its too smooth, and i think i saw the guy using delay. ive herd a few band use it, Cannibal Corpse have used it a few times. its annoying me...is it just controled feedback, or is it a mixture of effects and feedback?

yeah if you have no idea what im talking bout, Cannibal Corpse do it for the intro of Hacksaw Decapitation. about 40 secs into it.

the octave pedal doesn't blow, you blow at using the octave pedal. myself and tons of other people have been able to use them, and with no problems.
why? because we know when and how to use them.
