Dave Mustaines' Spider Riff
I seen Dave Mustaine do this exercise on a movie I downloaded. Just thought I should show this to everyone.

The fingering for this exercise as demonstrated by Dave is:the fingers fretting the 5 chords on the A and D string are fingers 2 and 4 and the finger fretting the 5 chords on the E and A string are fingers 1 and 3 allowing you to play the first two and every folowing two chords without moving your hand.

His sidekick Marty Friedman published that in a guitar mag once too. The technique is used in Wake Up Dead and Holy Wars as well as other Megadeth classics and it rules!!!! (Oh, and it's hard too) I'm about to post to post a video on the videos of metaltabbers thread where you can see my slop-ass use of this technique.

He said he showed that to $$$allica back in the day too. It is one of his signature moves that gives him a unque sound. Spider riffing is kinda hard at first but with very little practice it can be mastered. Makes things a little faster without much noise.

I've been practising that technique for a while thinking I invented it! (cant do it very well)
never mind. it goes to show its bloody hard to be original.

Dave is the shit. I'm sure he isn't as big a asshole as everyone thinks either. After what $$$$llica did to him I'm not surprised he ended up being a little more bitter.
If King thinks he came up with spider riffing then why did Dave use it way before Slayer? You hear the King? I want an answer! Dave was the one that showed you how to play when you started.

As fast as sounds good. It is a great technique to learn because it really speeds up power chord riffs.
