You Dirty S.O.B.!

I want to get a B.C. Rich guitar and the model i like the most is the beast. Since I don't have a job (too young) and my family is poor I tried to find a beast in its cheapest form ( I could change the pickups later, and it would sound more expensive.) and that is the S.O.B. pack. has anyone had any experience with this guitar?

its the bronze version of the beast. Shitty pickups, crappy wrap around tunomatic bridge. The shape is a bit different too. The horns arent as long and its not as pointy, which may be a good thing, but it definitly doesnt feel as good as any other beast.
It really should be called the P.O.S. Pack.
Save up for a decent ibanez.

he said he doesnt have much money and he said his family is poor, so why would you put something as thoughtless and stupid as that ^^?

anyway, to answer this kids question, personally i like the regular sized beasts better. i dont like the shrinkage they put on the SOB pack. but instead of asking for our opinion, you should try to go to maybe guitar center or something and try it out or wherever you can find the SOB pack. i saw it at guitar center, i played it and i didnt quite like it. but thats just me, i prefer the full scale beast. hope this helped

how much is it? Like $250-$300. For that price, save up $50-100 more and get a nicer guitar. You'll be happier in the long run.

$50-$100 may be alot for someone who is poor, and then if he wants to change the pickups, then the amount hes going to have to pay overall is going to go up. all the costs will go up. it may limit him as he may not be able to afford anything else later on just because of the "little bit" of overspending.

i think your should try it and see what you like, most guitar shops have a display version out so you can try it. btw, i also think that you should stick to a certain budget due to your financial situation. sticking to a budget helps you plan out what you can buy later on.

i personally would be interested in the Aria XL DLX, the ESP MH 100QM, the ibanez rg321 and the BC Rich Platinum Pro ASM

all of those are good guitars for the price.

but like CC had said, if you want a whole different world of better guitars, your going to have to spend more money. i know that may be difficult for you so i wouldnt set out for the higher priced guitars.

Don't buy a bc rich, ever! I bought one and that was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Buy a Jackson instead. A lot good metal bands use bc rich, but never use the original pickups. Cannibal Corpse and Slayer for example, both of them have one bc rich player (They both have a V guitars, Kerry has his own custom though) and they both use emg pickups; if you don't know, emg pickups are very good.

Bc rich is only semi good once you reach the NJ (ones that ARENT made in Korea) and the upwards. Pat O brien has 3 custom Bc richs.

Yeah, I played the NJ series Mockingbird yesterday, and I think it's a really good guitar for the price, like $500 dollars. Neck-thru, ebony fretboard, binding, it's a pretty good deal. The pickups aren't bad, but it would sound waay better if it was changed. And one other thing I kinda didn't like, was that the inlay positions are kinda weird, like they have the inlays on diff. spots than most guitars.

dont buy a bc rich. just dont. you'll play it for a while, and then try a new guitar, and think "why the fuck did i buy that piece of shit"

not only do they sound like crap, but beasts so fucking heavy and awkward that you'll probably have back problems by the time you're 30.

also, for the price of a beast, you can get something wayyy better from ibanez... i wouldnt reccommend the cheap esp's ... they feel like plastic.
