if you can get hold of an RG550, do it. i have one and its amazingly good. ive also got a 1620, which isnt so good. but its still very very good. ive never played a jem, but i cant see any guitar being better (playability) than the 550, only equal.
Nb: an RG550 is not an RG1550, I have had people offer me more than I paid for my 550 (bought brand new)

rg370dx
really cheap, looks badass with the sharktooth inlays, and the whammy bar stays in tune after huge dives.

Yeh my backup has only one pickup... which happens to be an EMG... so yeh its very annoying.
Still plays great.. and could sound great if I put some real pickups in it.

I would think so since emg has only one 7 string pickup
At least...I think they only have one.

I have an old RG7-420, the stock PUs are a bit wank but it has a nice clean tone if use the second setting on the selector switch (not sure what it is, maybe the neck ends of both PUs. I should open her up and take a look sometime)

most stock RG pickups are wank, not if you get the higher end series, they come with decent pickups.

I like this one, but The most I like is ajpanese ibanez, I think is a RGT 42 se or something like that.
A question about the Ibanez pickups, somebody said that someone of them are good, Wich are these ones, the V7 V8 etc etc or the others, IBN s I think they are.

the V8/V7/S1's are allright, not superb but not crappy either.
the IBZ things are basically dimarzio's. the old IBZ things are ghostbuild dimarzio's (IBZ c/f series)

That's a bloody nice guitar! I love those Edge trems, nice and low and out of the way
My Ibanez RG7420 has a V8-7 and a V7-7, they're alright but if I played that guitar more often I'd probably stick a couple of Evolutions in there, or maybe an Invader

on the contrary its the exact opposite.
they are superb, very comfortable, and make your playing very easy. (in the case you are palm muting etc). These trems do not let the guitar get out of tune, ever.
