I'm looking to replace my Fender Jazz bass pickups, does anyone have any suggestions?

Seymour Duncan makes J bass replacements, correct?

If you can get a set of Bartolinis, get those instead.

well, what kind of sound are you going for?

i kinda like jazz basses with active emg's for a solid metal bass sound...

well, I'd prefer to stay passive. I don't really know what defines a "metal" bass sound, but my ideal sound would be close to the bass in Tool. (close, I know that Justin Chancellor uses active pickups, but I really don't want too have to install to much.)

You'd have to use the correct string gauge. I got close there with passives and a certain gauge that gives a bright metallic sound(don't ask which).
