Deicide for me,as much as I can't stand Glen his vocals are fucking killer.More so on the earlier cds.Krisiun is just fucking boring,well from what I've heard of them.(which is about 5-6 songs).

Deicide's early shit is pretty good. In Toremnt in Hell I enjoyed. It didn't have that fucking shitty annoying high pitched "demon fairy" voice in the background.

I like Deicides 5/4 time signatures and stuff like that und the drums. Dislike the guitar solos and the fucking posser singer.

I like Krisiuns guitarist skills an speed and the drummers speed too, , but I dislike the riffs and he drumer monotony.

I prefer Krisiun gigs (especially if they are with Behemoth : "clash of demigod tour" )

Krisiun, but neither really stick out for me. They don't offer all that much musically or lyrically. They just sort of sit behind either constant blastbeats in Krisiun's case, or in Deicide's repeat the same fucking lyrical idea over and over and over again. Ok, you don't like God. Ok, you don't like religion. Your first album summed it up. Krisiun aren't much better lyrically, but they're superior to Deicide. Sure, both bands may be musically talented, but most death bands are. So fucking what?

Although, on a side note, I've heard Krisiun have changed up their sound a bit with the new ep. If this is true, I may give it a listen.

Not even close IMO. "Once Upon the Cross" makes Deicide the big winner regardless of anything else they've done that sucked. "Legion" is the only really bad Deicide album. Everything else they've done is better than Krisiun.

Only now the Hoffman broters have left Deicide.

Something along these lines:
On Novenber 25th, 2004 Glen Benton officially stated that the Hoffman brothers will no longer be in the band due to them cancelling and walking off many shows among other personal issues. However, later on in January of 2005 guitarist Eric Hoffman had a few things to say about Glen. That Glen was saying these things about why the two brothers left the band to save his own ass. Eric went on to say how unprofessional and false Glen was. That he never seen him worship satan ever, and was even married in a Church. Eric also went on to say that Glen had mostly no part in Deicide at all, except for that he got most of the money the band earned. When the band started Glen didn't even own a bass and Eric had to buy him one. Most of the bass recordings on all of Deicide's albums are done by the drummer Steve. Glen didn't even contribute anything to the band except for lyrics, and that wasn't untill the band was already in the studio. Deicide's past sound engineers according to Eric Hoffman all have said he is the worst bass player they've ever seen.

I am 99% sure than Glen stated that while he hates god, he's never been a Satanist. I recall him saying this in an interview where he was defending himself against animal rights activists because he supposedly "sacrificed" a family of squirrels in a ritual. In reality, there was a family of squirrels in the attic. He shot one because it was eating through his cables, and he released the others in to the wild.

He may be a shitty bass player, he may not, but I've never seen Deicide live and so I won't judge. The bass is up to standard on "In Torment, In Hell", his vocals are good and I learnt my technique from what he said.

He's decent, not that it matters much in a distorted guitar dominated band. He's very amusing live because he looks bored and is often staring at the ceiling while he plays and sings. I've seen him chew out the bouncers for being too anal. I've also seen him spit on a guy that asked him to, then he said something about how retarded the guy was for asking and that "by the way, I have a cold you dumbshit".

I agree with you on that Legion is one of my favorite death metal album ever,but Once Upon the Cross is on par with it IMO.I would like to hear more Krisiun,all I have is the new album and I've probably listened to it like two times through,its just to boring to me.

I tabbed every single song from that album when I was like 17, and I have to say, it's one of the most simple, repetitive albums I've ever heard. I liked it back then, but as time goes on... not so much. I still like the title track and a couple of others, but the album is just so fucking formulaic. The song structures are all simple and repetitive, the riffs are all simple and repetitive, and the rhythm figures are all simple and repetitive. Once Upon the Cross should be changed to Simple & Repetitive.
