i i need some help to buy a second guitar. I am going to play in a death metal band and i wanted to improve my sound. i hesitate between a 7 string (ibanez or schecter) , a bc rich (they look terrible but i don't known how they sound), or... Could you provide some informations about 500 600$ metal guitars (i play on a 100w marshall, i got a roctron and a mesa preamp ) thanks

For death metal i pferer the 7 string so you have 2 tunings in one guitar. The standard E and B tuning. Or an esp baritone. Depends on how low you tune.

Jackson, play the best, fuck the rest.
I'm not a fan of 7 string guitars, just personal preference. They are good if you want to go really low though.

7 strings rule, I change the tuning of one string 1/2 a step and I can go from standard tuning to "Cryptopsy" (aka B Standard) tuning. Rejoice!

The narrower string spacing and wider neck can take a bit of getting used to, plus if you're not going to use the B that much, it can get in the way when you're riffing around on the E string. As far as LTD goes, I imagine the SC607 plays nicely, since I have the 6string model and it's a seriously nice guitar
I'm not too keen on DM played so downtuned, it can get to the point where it becomes a sludgy, bassy mess, regardless of production. The further down you tune, the more frequencies you're omitting in the mid-range which makes the whole thing sound incomplete. Personally, the lowest I would tune is Db; it's still quite low and heavy, but you retain more of that mid-range definition since the vocals are in that register too
Also, if you're going to get a 7string, tune the whole thing down a semitone at least; if you're going to take SFU's two-tuning approach, you'd be doing yourself a favour since DM played in standard E sounds wank

yeah, with a 7 string you can play death metal in B tuning. But if you don't feel like playing death metal. You can always play something like let's say metallica on the E tuning. It can be a bitch like ukfswmart said, when your playing the E tuning style the B string might get in the way.
