I'm new hear, and I will probably be thrashed for asking this but, what are your opinions of Danelectro and other lower end pedals?

mini's = mostly crap... a couple i like, for a cool lo-fi cheesey effect sound. kinda taking the crap and using it to your advantage.

the full size ones n' such(more expensive of course) are actually kick ass. at or above boss imo.

yeah, i'm probably gonna buy a danelectro or arion anyway cuz:
1)their cheap
2)I have very little money to spend
3)I need a decent distortion pedal for personal jamming
4)I suck anyway so it doesn't matter

however, I still would like to hear input because ya'll have the funniest reviews.

well, i guess if you're a tightwad who doesnt care about his sound at all... hunt down a used cheapo distortion pedal or amp with built in distortion.

just as cheap, if not cheaper than settling for an arion or mini dano, for as bad or better quality sound.

What, are you blind? The guys who have already replied have said that these cheap pedals sound like shit. What gave you the impression that the same pedals are 'decent'?

what kinda amp do you have ? maybe you could just buy a boost pedal or something.

I had a few danelectro pedals. The delays were awesome. The distortion was better than I thought it would be but go with a boss.

The new only cheapo Danelectro you should be getting is the Fish n' Chips EQ, great shit, once I get enouigh cash, I'm getting one. Beats wasting money on a Boss EQ.

enough cash? it's $30 bro, NEW.... i could hit the streets down town and beg for change and have that kind of cash in a couple days just go mow your neighbors lawn.

anyways... soundquality, is subjective... the boss isnt as noisey though... not to mention the boss is built like an armored vehicle, while the dano is built like an easter egg.

Well isn't it a bit obvious considering how cheap this is how broke I am? I just spent all my money on the book "Shred is not Dead" and ordered a boutique trem boost pedal.

I have heard some danelectro pedals and i thought that it sounded pretty good. not excellent, but good.(good enough for me anyway) I don't think even I would stoop so low as to purchase an Arion.

Danelectro=shit.

Pros are, it sound good for the price.

Cons are, its noisy as hell.

Better get a noise gate to go with your fish.

The pedal, like all pedals do, has active circuitry in it which boosts and cuts the frequencies from your signal. It's this circuitry that's noisy

sorry man, but you can't just clump it up into one big group and say it's superior....

i've played some amazing pedals... and some horrible rack gear.

but i find boss to be considered my "standard" when comparing quality sound fx...there is better and there is worse..

boss is built solid, fair priced, and sounds good.

Exactly right.

So ok, the boss octave paedal isnt so hot and maybe you not a fan of the metal zone.

But dollar for dollar the Boss stuff is just better when it comes to small stompers.
