String Stretch on Floyd

I know this issue has been addressed before, but I couldn't find the thread in question.

My Ran has a Floyd and the strings I use (Ernie Ball .10s) never seem to stop stretching, making it a bitch to keep the guitar in tune. Could someone recommend a string with great tone and little stretch?

its not the string, but the spring tension that messes the tuning up. check the springs at the back of the bridge.

Yo corroded, you have a typo in your sig "melodic death DROM New Delhi"...

As far as the Floyd goes, I have no problem with the Ernie Ball .09 super slinky strings that I use. To avoid the latent stretching I beat the shit out of the strings and use the vibrato bar excessively for 15 to 30 minutes BEFORE I lock the nut. Using this technique has eliminated post lock stretching almost entirely on my guitar.

Springs look ok.. bridge is almost parallel with the body.

I'll try what Kylito said.

And make sure your hardware is TIGHT. No limpwristing when locking the strings down...

You want that bridge parallel with the body, not almost

Two clerks down at the Sam Ash im a usual at tell me that Ernie Ball strings FUCK UP your floyd rose since its coating causes it to slip up.

just what i heard

get yourself some cleartone 10s, they cost 5 dollars more than any other pack of strings but its worth it. the shit sounds nice and new and lasts a lot longer.

I've used EB .10's for a year on my ibanez with an edge trem, no problems so far.

just make sure your bridge is floating parralel to the body, so you have the right tension.

Before you clamp the nut down wammy the shit out of the strings with about 5 minutes of playing. It will be out of tune again so retune it, clamp it down and fine tune it. I know this works for me but I got a Kahler on my Ran too and they are much smoother then Floyds imo.

I also mess with the whammy bar before locking the nut. Takes some time but it pays off. You should try it.
