I would suggest getting a pair of needle-nosed pliers, and try and tighten it up, it should slip back into place.

Needle nose or a deepwell 7/16ths ?
On a related issue....today I took my Ibanez jack port out......the contacts were badly corroded....so a tiny bit of light sanding and it lost some static I hardly noticed until I did the cleanup.

Try some kind of oil-based lubricant, maybe mixed with some graphite dust (you should be able to pick both up at any decent hardware store) and pour a little bit of that in the threads of the nut and socket, then work it gently from side to side, or up and down, until you get the nut where you want it

You might have to replace the jack. If you plan on replacing the Jack then just clamp a pair off vice grips on the nut and strip away. It might be the only way to fix it seeing as you might have fucked the jack for life. Always put the cord around the strap button to keep this from happening. If you manage to rip a strap button out wood filler will fix it easy.

I want to know what cables you're using, cause there's no way a 1/4" piece of cable is going to hold out against a strap button :P

Thats just my point. You will never have to worry about the jack if you hang the cable around the strap button, but that only works if you use a strap to though.
As for the cables I use... I use all kinds of cables. I have a few Moster cables that are nice but I have not really noticed a difference in tone as compared to a cheaper Whirlwind cables. The Moster cables are better made though.

You mean like this?
I learned that quickly seeing as I have very short cables.

I'm using Planet Waves cables at the moment. The sheilding's not as great as I thought it would be, considering that I've picked up Czech and French AM radio stations at band practice before now, and the compression springs have gone on one of the ends, but the actual jack construction is brilliant, and the right-angle circuit breaker cable is a stroke of genius

It was definately the cables; they were still coiled up on the floor when I was playing, cause the distance between my amp and my NS-2 isn't that far and, I guess this is the case with any wire coil, the radio waves induced an EM current in the cable and my amp pumped it out. It was bloody quiet though, I had to crank my volume up full just to make out that it was Czech radio :P

What amp have you got? That sounds like it's the amp picking it up, not your guitar or cables
Demon, the coiled wire is between the NS-2 and the amp, so the induced signal isn't being passed through the noise surpressor for it to be removed, hence why the stations are still coming across on the amp. I know what causes it though, so it's not a problem to sort it out :P
