emg's on a b.c.rich bronze warlock

hey im tring to take my crappy warlock that i bought cuz it was cheap and make it really cool so after finding i would need some seriouse drilling to put in a floyd rose im tring to put in eather a emg 81 for bridge and keep the stock or two emgs an 81 and 85. i want to know if i would need to drill any extra holes and how i would install them using only a slecter switch one volume knob and a tone knob. any help would be greatly apreciated

I don't think you'll want to leave the stock pickups in there at all, once you have one EMG in you wont use the other stock pickup anymore, because of the difference in sheer quality.

EMG 81/85 plus wires : 150$ ( at the least, unless you get them for a very low price from E-bay ). Having a technician install the both of them could cost you 25-50$, depending on who you have it done from.

Floyd Rose Tremelo ( not a licensed, the real thing ) plus installation : 200$

These modifications you're talking about could cost you quite a bit of money, and if I were you I would sell the Bronze and use that money you were going to spend on upgrades on a guitar that already has them. If you just have to have a B.C. Rich, there are a few Warlocks on Ebay every so often, that someone has already put these things in there.

But if you want to use your Bronze, then replacing the bridge you already have with a Floyd Rose, plus the locking nut, will be a huge hassle and will cost you more money than is practical. You or your technician should be able to just drop the EMG's in.

thanks i have seen the 81/85 go for like 300 where did you see them for 150? thing is whith this guitar is that it is the first i bought for myself and i dont think i could bring myself to sell it. i looked at the emgs and it looks loke i need two volumes and two tone knobs for the set could i use the one volume and tone and route the two pikups to the same ones? i am not interested in the floyd rose after seeing the work and possible damages

Now we can justify putting a pair of EMG's into a Bronze.

On E-bay, is where I got my 81/85 set. My 81 was 40$ and my 85 was 80$, and installation was 25$.

Go to EMG's official website to read about how to install a set for one volume, one tone.

Dude, do it! I got a MIM Fat Strat limited edition I ripped all the electronics out of and went SA/SA/85 AND IT ROCKS. AWESOME TONE! One of the best things i've ever done. It's not hard if you can solder and all the info is avail at their site (as was already said).

I've actually played a bronze warlock with emg-81s in it. A friend of mine has it. Sounds OK but the neck feels like shit and is very uncomfortable. I would just wait for a better guitar.

Dude, for the money you'll be spending on the upgrades, you can just go on ebay and get yourself an older NJ series 'lock. Don't waste any more of your time and money on that.
