I laughed at him and said that that isnt metal. but i said who is house of doom? Then after him telling me it is metal he goes ' Man they are awsome but i can only ever find one song...its called Black Label Society' At this point i fall and the floor laughing.....Ah my fucking dumbass friends

In my opinion, Priest is power metal which is even gayer than Rob Halford is. Megadeth just plain sucks because of Dave's cheesy vocals and their gay-sounding 80's metal type of bullshit (yes, I know I'll get flamed for that). And I used to own "Among the Living" by Anthrax. Yet looking back on it, it is quite equally gay to the other two mentioned and is almost power metal compared to many other thrash/heavy metal bands.

My true love of metal lies in the progressive sub-genre. The rest of the metal genres are pretty much equal to me: death/black/power/doom/etc.

However, I find the old stuff to be quite bland and boring. I agree with shimbolla. The only old stuff I can stand anymore is Maiden and the occasional King Diamond. So your list sucks. I am a metal head, and I barely have anything in your limey little list. I just highly prefer new metal (not nu ) over the old stuff.

IMO, no one decides what makes you metal and what doesnt. You shouldn't have to fulfill some checkoff list of shit that you have to own to make you metal.
