Some randalls are pretty cheap. like the G2 series. the 100 watt head sounds pretty decent.

Crate GT1200 head. SS, 120 watts, $299 new at guitar center. Lacks in a few features, but its a great deal. lots of gain.

the used 5150 prices have come down finally. there is a block letter at a local store for only $550!
other than that i'm a fan of the blue voodoos and sovtek migs..

so ive had my avt 275. i thought it was ok.
got the crate blue voodoo friggin loved it but i could do with a little more gain.
i figure, on ebay i see the avt's starting at 500. i figure i could get about 300 for the blue voodoo. that 800 bucks. so, maybe a 5150 and a cheap cab eh?
not to impose on you thread. its kinda the same subjesct and not worthy of its own. what some other suggestions for a half-stack or a head and a 2x12.
im already lookin at avatar.

provided you can find someone willing to accept that the value of a used 5150 just isnt $800 anymore(it never really was, maybe for like a month or two).  i know a guy locally that was trying to fill me with that, "these things are vintage, discontinued amps, back when you could buy them new they were like $1,500, this is almost half that!!!1a"

But thats a vintage block letter logo... the tone is far superior than the signature logo. Trust me... I own one.

I sold my 5150 II for 900$ at the height of the E-bay 5150 craze ... made 200$.
I'm thinking of an Ampeg VH-140 next. But that will be a long time from now.
