ok here is my theory and getting a free guitar

go to a store and check em out, see what guitars they have that you would want
then get your guitar case or borrow one that is able to hold the guitar you want
go in later that day, or perhaps another day with the (empty) case in hand
if they ask why you have it explain that you wanted to try out some amps but you wanna use your guitar when there not looking grab the guitar you want and just act like its yours, then after "trying" out a few amps you put 'your' guitar into the case and walk out

no but i was in a music store one time and the idea just popped in my head cause that particular store has a nice back corner that noone can really see for the 'swap' and there only ever like 3 guys working and two are almost always at the counter on the oppasite end and side of the store

You can't do that with the Guitar Center at my place. As soon as you walk in with something, they look at it, check the serial #, and when you leave they do the same thing. You buy a pack of strings and even if you have the recipt and the pack in a bag, they still wanna check it. So ur idea wouldn't work if you were to try it at my G-center, the security is like tighter than one at an airport after 9/11.

in my local guitar shop it's very similar to gd's

the guitar store here is the exact opposite. When you walk in, you need to wait 30 minutes before you actually see someone that works there. So buying a pack of strings takes about 35 min

It's a pretty small store. And sometimes the guys who work there will just go and eat someplace. It doens't have much customers but fuck...you could rob the wholo place while they are gone.

theres a music store in my town (well there bout 3 or 4) but that paticular one..
the guy is such a fucking moron, he lends amps guitars to lots of peeps.

so what u do is say whoooaaah that a nice fucking guitar i wish i could try it at my house see how it sounds on my gear. then he would say ok take it home and bring it back someday (that exactly how he would say it)

So true. They make you leave backpacks and such at the door and they double check everything on the way out and then tag your receipt.

As for getting a free guitar, try to find some old fuckers that have unused gear sitting around that they don't understand or appreciate and then give them a sob story. It's kind of like a scholarship. Explain to them that they can donate all their shit to you and then write it off on their taxes.

I walked into a store with my ran after my guitar lesson cause i didnt wanna leave it in my car, and they asked me to leave the case at the front desk, and then he thought it over and said shit we dont have any fucked up guitars shaped like that, go ahead and take it in. They ended up having a piece of shit banged up used RR there that had been there for years, i didnt take it, but i "borrowed" a couple springs from it.

Just go kill someone and take their guitar. Like a shitty guitar teacher who has a really nice guitar. Or maybe some shitty pop rock band. Then sell that guitar and buy a good guitar. Or you could say you are a guitar worker (fix up guitars and shit) say you are really cheap but super good and then steal their guitar and go to mexico for a few years. Afterwards come back in the United States ( if you aren't from the US go to Africa for a while and come back). While you are down there make sure you take lessons from the greatest guitar playres in the world of course. Master everythign you can then of course like all great virtuosos "forget what you are taught" and create a super sick metal band called Frolick. Release your first cd calling it Frolick - ...through the Forest, your second cd will be called Frolick - ...the reincarnation. This is where you totally change your sound and destroying your fan base. That's ok though cuz you will have all the pop "hip" people listening to your music and praising it. This is the best time in your life because you can basically shit on a guitar and let that noise become a song. Then you can bitch and moan about turtles who don't have legs and need to grow a brain because they keep eating food at your thanksgiving dinners. Make sure you drink a lot of beer/alcohol/what the fuck ever and shoot up on liquid chocolate and peanut butter (this is a great drug). After about 30 years release another cd called Frolick - Back to the Basics. This will lure all your old fans to come back and think that you are great when really it still sucks. You will contain no solos no drums no bass...hell no guitar...you will play a keytar (keyboard/guitar) and start using a synthsizer for all your background sounds. You will get a hook by the name of Behemoth Betty to sing for you on your cd. After that chill out and die.

That's a really good idea. Except they are not stupid and they will ask you to open the case so they can see what kind of guitar it is and to write down its serial number. That's the way they do it at Guitar Center anyway. Chances are that they will make you do that at any other guitar store too.
Of course, you can always tell them that your gitar has a really kick ass see through finish and you just polished it up so it is virtually invisible. The chances of anyone believing you are very slim, but hey, you never know.
