Loose Input
Lately I have been teaching alot of my friends some basic stuff. One of them has an old Westone that I think would be awesome if it was set up right. Unfourtunately I am fucking ignorant on these things. I have lowered her action, which was literally a half inch high, and done numerous other small things, but it is still pretty fucked up. One of the biggest problems is a loose input, which I have no clue how to fix... The Volume knob is also quite loose.... The trem keeps popping up or down too, making staying in tune nearly imposible.....

Sounds like you just need to tighten up some screws and shit dude. Simple shit really.
What about the trem is popping? Is it the whole base plate, or is it just a few of the saddles?

have you tightend the bolt around the input? if thats tight then unscrew it and see if something loose in the inside portion of it.
what kind of knobs does she have? different ones tighten different ways
as far as the trem thing goes its probably a shitty one to begin with so eigther get a better one or a locking nut

It is just some of the saddles.... I dont know about the knobs... I have tried tightening some of the shit in the input, but the sound still cuts in and out.

I'd try removing the jack and bending the thing that makes contact with the tip of the plug, so that it presses against the plug.

I think that you just need to resolder the wires on the input jack. Happened to me last year sometime.

Something like this happens with my guitar, when I turn the vol. knob all the way to the left (to the max.), it makes it quieter by like 1/2, so I have to kinda "jiggle" the knob around a bit to get max. vol. Prolly just faulty wiring or soldering or something like that.

Dust possible...
Guy at the guitar shop told me once to drop a few drops of lighter fluid down the posts of the knobs to clean the dust out....it evaporates with little residue.
Worked on my Ibanez that was fuzzing in and out in the volume control.
