Yeah i am working out 3 times a week and i try to eat right. But i guess it takes a while.

Do squats like a madman. They have been proven to speed up muscle growth in almost every part of the body. They are the most essential weightlifting excersize. Make sure to do 3-5 sets of them too. Pyramid your reps and weight. That means do something like this as an example

1st Set- 50 pounds, 12 reps
2nd set- 55 pounds, 10 reps
3rd set- 60 pounds, 8 reps
4th set- 70 pounds, 6 reps

Run run run and run. The same stuff as the Army, but at the end we have to do this 2 day long final called battle stations. I don't know if the Army does anything like that but it's a bitch of a course and easy to fail, much like the Marines crusable. Mostly the Navy focuses on attention to detail while under extreme phyical and mental stress.

Tis' true. Unless your in it for huge hulk muscles then don't lift weights everyday. You will lose joint flexability and speed. A little run and some pushups and setups every day are good though if you have a job that you don't get any work at though. It will help you feel better and give you a ton of energy all the time if you have good work out plan. Can't be metal if you can't play without felling like you are going to have a heart attack.

yah, we run all the fucking time. In basic we went to the field for 2 1/2 days...at the end. Now I run a lot though. For PT test (example) I do 71 pushups and around 70-78 situps in two minutes each. Than I have to run two miles....I do that in a 14:20-14:30. There is much better...but I'm not the best runner. Running is excellent for your health though.

Running isn't my thing either or at least for time because I'm always close to the alloted amount and I hate it. Just jogging though is fine for me. I can go all day. My best PU/SU was 116/110 in 2 minutes but that was a few years ago. Now I'm about where your at but if I tried I could get back to where I was before.
