song moments
songs that u listen to for one specific part.. whether it be just one riff or an interlude..... this thread is not the same idea as "little bits that make songs special"
Sleep by Godspeed you black emperor... the whole song is amazing but the the up-beat part that begins at 9:23... and the part at 18:06..

Symphony X-The Odyssey The part around 20 minutes is what I wait for. When the music gets power-metallish.

Sacrilege.
My favorite song moments are when any post-"And Justice For All..." Metallica song on the radio comes to an end...

Most songs when it gets to the solos....
Many Opeth songs do this to me, like Blackwater Park, the heavy ass riff right before the solo, then that awesome solo comes on. Godhead's Lament, right at around 58 seconds, that bad ass riff comes on.

The melodic part in Opthe's "Godhead's Lament"
The intro riff to Unleashed Upon Mankind from Bolt Thrower.
The chorus to Deliver us to Evil from Exodus.

SEARCH!
anyway.
opeth - deliverance: 0:00. hearing that riff makes me want to smash things.
opeth - deliverance: 0:25 - see above, but to a stronger degree.
opeth - april ethereal: 0:06 - " "
burzum - det som engang var: 4:53. that riff while varg's screaming starts, it tears me up inside like no other song.
astriaal - glories of the nightsky: opening riff. absolutely beautiful, and the not-very-technical solo fits perfectly.
amon amarth - friends of the suncross: 2:24. that fill and the next riff make my neck sore with hard banging.
abramelin - pleasures: 1:14. it's just a brutal riff.
cradle of filth - thank god for the suffering: 0:03.
cradle of filth - her ghost in the fog: 1:05. very haunting.
destroyer 666 - shadow: whole song
darkthrone - natassha in eternal sleep: opening riff
fuck...i'm dead - army of hermaphrodites: 0:25. incredibly catchy.
immortal hammer - zem nasich predkov: opening riff, and 1:05. catchy black metal!
solos:
abramelin - pleasures
cannibal corpse - the wretched spawn
decapitated - eternity too short. the title reflects the only thing wrong with the solos.
fuck that, itll do for now.

Most acoustic bits from Gardenian.
Too many Kreator moments.
Too many Nile moments to mention, but I'll give particular praise to Unas Slayer of the Gods for having so many amazing pieces.
Way too many Opeth moments to mention, I know if I start then I'll keep going on and on.
Akercocke - The Horns of Baphomat: towards the beginning while the high screams are blended with clean vocals.
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell: As the solo builds itself up (hate Dio though).
Cryptopsy - Phobophile: this is fairly obvious.
Cryptopsy - Slit your Guts: The beginning.
Cacophony - Images: The amazing arpeggios at 2:31. And the ending with the acoustic fade out.
Cacophony - E.S.P: The beginning.
Cacophony - Where My Fortune Lies: Perhaps the greatest beginning to a song ever.
Cacophony - The Ninja: The whole of the beginning up until the singing starts.
Death - Voice of the Soul: the whole song gives me the shivers but the very ending part is especially nice.
Death - Flesh and the Power it Holds: the solo.
Edge of Sanity - Crimson: My favourite ever melodic solo-type thing at 28:32.
Edge of Sanity - Aftermath (Crimson II): The beginning solo, the beginning clean singing, the end clean singing and the end solo
Megadeth - Holy Wars...The Punishment Due: The riff at 2:41.
Megadeth - Hanger 18: How obvious is this.
Megadeth - Poison was the Cure - The first real riff (you know) and solo at end.
Megadeth - Lucretia: The first riff.
Morbid Angel - Desolate Ways:.
Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge: The solo at end.
Necrophagist - Ignominous and Pale: Whole song.
Racer X - Technical Difficulties: First riff and solo (not particularly metal but shred can be associated).
Enough.

Chorus in After Forever - Follow in the cry...
Chorus in Moonspell - From Lowering Skies...
usually when i like a part of a song i learn to like the entire songs... it's hard to coem up with this kind of ideas, maybe additional later.

One thing i remember right now, is that there is a part of "dawn of then angry", in which the guitar plays a rythym by itelf and everything else comes in, that particular guitar riff especially after the rest or the band joins, it makes me wanna headbang most out of all the other riffs ive heard.

The best two parts in music history are:
Gorgasm - Fisticunt at 1:38
Thorns - Interface To God (The last riff, I can't remember the time)
