Need Some Help with Ibanez sounds...

Hey I bought the Ibanez X iceman a few months ago and it sounds fine on my practice amp, but i just got a band together and when i play on a cabinet it seems like it farts, and gives a bad sound. My other guitarist plays a fender strat, and through his marshall stack his guitar sounds pretty awesome, but when i hook up through his same exact set-up i sound like crap compared to him. To my understanding, the ibanez x is a nice model, around $700 retail, and i like it becuase it gives a nice deep sounds (apparently). Keep in mind i play rock metal, so i need the low tone and good sustain. Is the problem the pickups? Becuase sometimes the screws loosen themeselves and the pickup actually falls into the body and i have to take the strings out and fix it when that happens. Could it be possible the pickups are just damaged? i figured a mohogany body would give a better sound than that. Right back, or drop me an email, i'd love to know whats up before i go buy another guitar.

I'd start with the obvious....^^^
And read the threads in this forum for tons of guitar recomendations and firsthand experiences with many types of guitars.

All amps are different. You can't expect to get your practice amp to sound good, then play on a different amp with the same settings and have it sound the same. Just screw around with the settings on the amp first and try and get the sound you want that way. You may need new pickups, but if the sound is really that bad then it's probably the new amp you're using, more than anything

As for the pickings falling out... dude, how hard are you playing that thing? You can prevent the pickup falling down by tightening the two screws either side of the pickup, which will pull the pickup back up towards the strings. So do that every time it starts getting lower, rather than letting it fall out completely

This is more of a gear problem rather than a guitar problem.

you'll probly find the problem lies with your pickups, try adjusting your pickups so that there around a centimetre below ure strings. If your pickups are to far away or to close they ll sound either real thin and shitty or to bassy and crappy. Hope that helps
