Well I think it's good because it has a massive amount of distortion. But if your going to use it, don't turn the gain boost and dist knobs up full at the same time because then it will sound to muddy(many has complained about it).

Whatever pedal you get, it'll never better the overdrive you'll get from your amp's own distortion channel(s)

I agree with mart on this one - many bands just use the amp settings and then get pedals for the effects. Experiement with your amps bass/mid/gain controls to make sure your amp doesn't have the sound you are looking for as it could save you some money.....

Ah should I get an overdrive pedal instead and pair it with my amp distortion?

yes.
distortion pedals suck. use an overdrive pedal, and have it to boost your amps distortion. It will sound much better that way.

I have some distorion pedals. Ans some sound pretty good if you ask me. But amp distortion always sounds better to me. And if it doesn't you can always boost it with an overdive pedal or eq.

Pardon my asking, but how will adjusting your EQ push your amp into distorting more? EQ is done after pre-amplification, which is where the distorting of the original signal takes place. And using an EQ pedal to boost input is a bad idea since the pre-amp will only break up on the boosted frequencies, creating an imbalanced distortion

your signal and all the frequencies being boosted are higher, so you hit the preamp harder. and with tube amps especially this is desirable because of the way tubes react to it.

That's not the case with all amps. In some amps the eq is placed after the gain stages.

I think in the first two sentences of his post he was referring to amp eq not a pedal. Still not sure, but thanks for correcting me if I was wrong. And I just realized I made a typo on the previous post, it should have been "before" not "after".
