cab and tubes
im thinking of getting a 5150II or a 6505+ head, and i just wanted to know which is the best cab to go with that head and what brand of replacement tubes should i get?
btw, how long do those tubes last and would i need someone to replace it for me or would i be able to do it myself?

uhh the matching cab? 
marshall 1960 cabs are always good..
I dont know enough about tubes, but tubes usually last about a year, i think. and you should be able to do it yourself.

Use any cab you want, and I preper JJ's in the poweramp and EH's in the preamp.
Preamp tubes usually last around 2-3 years while poweramp tubes last about 1 year. The 5150 has a fixed bias so you just pull the old tubes out and put the new ones in.

cheer u guys, thats pretty much cleared up all my questions
the main reason i want to get a 5150 is because im a really big fan of chimaira, (i dunno whether many people on the board like them or not, but i think theyre kick ass), and they said on the peavey web site that all they did to get thier tone on the last album was plug thier guitars straight into his amp with no effects or shit.
so thats why i want a 5150
man i love thier tone so much
btw i just have one more, where would i get tubes from... ebay?

i wouldnt trust to much of what peavey says... take it with a grain of salt.
but if you like chimaira's tone, a 5150 could definately get you similar sounds.

Any your point? After all the mixing and production and other variables the sound is NOTHING like a guitar plugged into an amp.
A BBE can easily get you a Chimaira sound.

I get decent tone and sound from my Peavey 112 solo series amp/100 watts.
In conjuction with it, I'm using an rp200...not the best pedal..but I get most of the sounds I want..

i d get the 5150 cabs that match the head. If there shit you can always change the speakers.
